This is cool! I like the low end, being a bass player. Peppy number, a "pick up my attitude" type song. Makes me want to dance on a table top, ahhh, the good old days. he
Delighted to read you wanma dance, wayne. :-) Yeah, there are four bass layers interacting to give it some oomph. Reasons Europe synth, a Deepmind 6 sample and some Bassstation 2 samples too. Thanks for dropping by, mate.
I dig it. It has kind of a Dead Can Dance vibe to it. Not quite as ethereal. Which is good. This is more industrial with that delicious Scandinavian flavoring. Good work. Hopefully you'll bring more Scandi-trad to the table.
OK. If you do not need me to remove leads, I can make them downloadable at once. I will do this right away. They will be downloadable for 24 hours. I would love to hear the results. If you want, you can just post them on Looperman with references to the original tracks if you want, so people can hear what you make out of them. I will go make them ready for download now.
Greetings Shaman77. You just want to sing on top of this or do you want a version where I remove the leads, so you can make some melodies yourself? Or maybe you do not mean this track in particular, but something you can sing too? I can check out some of our tracks without leads and see if any of them is suitable for singing instead.
nice work guys the ethnic sounds you bring certainly portray your territory as Scandinavian, its a pleasure to listen to, talented musicians. its cinematic and could be used in many ways, it building impactful and it sheds a sparkle too offering hope, the tribal drum is portraying a driven attitude, nice work boys
Hi
Thanks for dropping by and showing interest for our tools. This is mainly an ITB production, so we make use of some plugins all right :-)
The Hurdy Gurdy in the A-part is from the Scandinavian Roots Vol. 1 ReFill loaded into the NNXT Sampler in Reason.
During its second round, the Hurdy Gurdy is harmonized with a Cello (to the left) made with Reason´s Friktion physical modeling synth.
The main instrument in the B-part is a Sweedish bagpipe from the same ReFill loaded into NNXT. However, it is droned and layered with octaved bagpipes sampled from the Korg Prophecy physical modeling synth.
The flute is an Offerdale Flute from Scandinavian Roots as well.
The choir is a patch I made with Reason´s Combinator module, where I morphed the Humana Choir ensemble with other choir samples to create more dynamic and realistic vocals.
The bass wave sequence is made with sampled bass shots from my beloved HW Polivoks synth and just as admired Repro-1 softie.
Peter´s guitar is recorded raw in several takes, noise treated, and layered subtly with itself to get a fuller sound that does not drown in the mix.
Thanks, kind sir. Yes, the celtic inspiration may be true in known styles, but we really do not know much about non written music of the past. However we know there were cultural centers where many musical styles met, and in Scandinavia, horns, flutes and bagpipes (the swedish bagpipe) somewhat similiar to those of the celts have been found. Further, the vikings have likely picked up a lot of influences when they were all over Britain and elsewhere. Thus, we allow ourselves multiple sources of inspiration, also pushing it a bit to the east sometimes without leaving the European continent.
Ha, ha. Well, usually the dying warriors are not in a particularly kinky mood when the Valkyries pay them a visit. However, them girls are hotties, so if that is your thing, just throw a dirty insult towards them, and you are in for the slap-fest of your life. They will probably end it by turning you into a girl before sending you to Hel, but your fun may be worth it. ;-)
Valhalleluja mates. In Nomina Ikea to you. Your music is an ode to all Scandinavian, including well-made furniture with a big heart, and delicious horse meatballs! And all the Rape and Plunder etc, etc. geta skap-góðr
great work lads this is an electronic work of art, its like a modern day war of the worlds we are all enslaved working for artificial intelligence a virus wont save us this time, its tribal warfare great sounding piece
Cool rhythyms and I like the instruments and recurring motifs. Has an epic feel to it. I also enjoyed the mythological aspect and background you provide. Such a rich source of inspiration.
Oh thanks, man. To be honest we are shamelessly self-satisfied with the fusion of Nordic mythology and our musical style. It provides a historical and spiritual dimension to the music that takes it beyond sheer entertainment to us. Old techniques/imstrumentaion for old tales, but with anachronisms to the present by the electro parts.
The drums are impactful, the instruments you used are right out of the history books. Very tribal sounding, preparing for conflict, maybe. Would be perfect for a movie soundtrack for the time period you mentioned in the description or even earlier, back to the Picts. Now write a song about their iconography, he!
“Preparing for conflict”. That was very close, sir. Actually, it is about Odin trying to reach the gates of Hel by running from the guardian Garmr, thus avoiding the cocflict, but you bet he was prepared. The ocarina is Odin’s theme, the hurdy gurdy is Garmr trying to catch up. Odin made it, his eight legged horse, Sleipner, who can run in air too, was too fast for even Garmr.
We are pleased that everything intended with the tune, from period to narrative went straigth in to your perceptive mind, sir.
