I like what you've got so far. The piano really sets the mood and is the star of the track in my opinion. Two things that I didn't like as much were the choir and the ending. For the choir, I'd trying increasing the attack on it a little bit. Every time it comes in it sounds somewhat abrupt, but my ear wants to hear something a little more smooth. The ending wasn't bad, I just think that it might sound more interesting if you add another chord to the very end of it. Nice work though!
plain is often a good thing...its states its case clearly..this may sound weird Larry, but I would leave out that little click-snare or maybe replace it with something subtle with a bit more body (lower frequencies)..keep in mind you are hearing this from an old guy whose first exposure to R&B goes way back to the originals...but, as you say, the vocal is the star and that may change the whole perspective..Its different in a really good way..it leaves all kinds of options open for the vocalist and has unique instrumentation that should really draw attention...I really enjoy the kind of creativity you put into your musical ideas Larry...and that always makes for enjoyable listening....right on....Ed
Nice beat man really liked it I can only suggest that u work on the arrangement if u fill that's its too repetitive I too also feel like that with my music so in that case running an auto filter on the hook part, a break,a build up dat could all add to variation in the arrangement but overall Liked the beat good work
This has a nice kind of light and smooth flow to it Larry...lots of those higher frequency kind of sounds that add convey a good feeling...it could use a nice fat bass to really hit its R&B stride...its good listening but if you want to kick it up a big notch maybe think about a key change (or 2) around the middle to last 3rd just to hold the interest...Its in C and D minor all the way so you could bump it over to G or A etc and make it cook good...maybe a little change in the drums where you make the key change ...definitely keep it going...it has an uplifting kind of vibe and we could all use more of that....right on...Ed
Thanks so much for tha listen, im in the process of making some changes and laying the vocals, so i hope it comes out well, thanks alot my friend. Larry
Listen, the first 20 + seconds I was thinking,,, what is this? I was ready to leave.
When the melodies kicked in, it was worth the wait.
Get the vocals laid down, and get the intro part re-done (possibly with a vocal).

Which isn't to shabby, since you're just learning to make beats. You're on the right path!
