The sound is cool and Ive listened to some other track of yours which are great - but this one (to my not so perfect ears -that is - I am a bit tone deaf so could be wrong) I think is off key from about 20 seconds in ... not just some warping for effect and then snapping back. Tell me Im dreaming and or maybe I dont get it
Hello and thanks for checking out the sounds, first and foremost- I appreciate this feedback as well, because quite honestly, what youre hearing could very well be as you stated. I myself have sustained hearing damage (from the military) and that paired with not reading music, may be doing a number on my melodies lol. I do everything by ear in terms of notes, pitches etc. so i might be nose diving into stretches of flat and/or out of key measures. I will say though that part of my theory does experiment with melodic progressions that could be pinned for being out of tune, depending on the listener. I like to keep the progression at a broad spectrum, and then question what works and what doesnt after that. For this jam i took a sample, split it in half and into two different channels. Then i doubled or cut in half (because i did do both) the speeds of the samples against the original speed of the complimentary samples. Then i swapped the original speed channel to do the same with it. I think the sample slowed down also gives it an adjusted tone that pushes the envelope on being in tune. The raw samples by themselves i never in a million years would have thought to purposely match up btw- starkly different pieces of music in tone and emotion that just happened to please my ear when played together. I hope this makes sense, and thank you again for listening enough to help me better understand my style or lack thereof lmao
Sounds good. Seems like a lot of built up mid range. On the finished wav file, cut around 260 hrtz trying various widths and depths of the Q. It's best to control problem frequencies throughout the production process before they become problematic. Taking breaks and coming back with fresh ears exc. Also mixing environment may play a part. If there is a severe lack of midrange in your mixing environment, you compensate but it translates inaccurately in the digital world. Best of luck.
Great ideas on the track. I like the guitar use. You may want to consider reducing the volume of the bass and snare, and then using compression to boost it back, something with a quick release time.
That way the bass will hit as hard without clipping.
Im still new to production so i appreciate the guidance. I definitely heard this in my truck today and it was way too loud i will try to compress it correctly for sure thank you.
This is absolutely AMAZING! I could listen to that guitar all day long, it had me hooked & hypnotized. WOW! nice! track here & outstanding! work also on this H, way to go! Faved. Bravo! :)
I appreciate you taking the time to listen. And it is on the loud side, i thought it may be a little too loud. If you reply to this and tell me whether or not you think it could stand to drop a couple decibels, i will do that so lmk. Thanks again!
I agree on the eq and mix. I am still fuckin wit it and have begun to even it out. Thanks for the spot on critique homie and hopefully the end product will include some vocals too. Stay up!
This track has such an AMAZING! sound, everything meshes well, I particularly like that change around 0:34 mark real Nice! this is vibrant, fresh & captivating!. Love what I'm hearing. EXCELLENT work on this H, TOP! Production! indeed. BRAVO!!
Thank you its great to hear feedback, especially the positive bit you contributed, because im getting mixed reviews on it elsewhere, and i like this track. Thanks for your ear and voice!
To be honest – this is a genre I'm not familiar with. But then I think it cant't be labelled really. It reminds me of ART OF NOISE and also CLUTCHY HOPKINS in a way. Totally chilling and aptly titled. To me this is an outstanding work here!
