Would you be interested in sending me the guitar part for this? Maybe the piano too? I can make a HUGE remix out of this. some of the guitar work is great!
very very interesting track!!!
like endtransmission said before: the beginning is very strong ... what I miss then is a catchy hook line, don't know if it should be lead guitars or a synth, maybe vocals ...
the git is maybe not powerful enough, or it's mixed too much in the background, not sure ...
a hip hop rock track is a good perspective for this one!!
anyway, I like it!
and it's good work ...
Hey refs, how are ya! thanks for stoping by and listening! yeah, i got a bit lost for ideas on the track, tried some thing out, was not happym felt the holes in there, tried some things, still was not happy! looks like this is one of those open tracks to work out at a later time!I was tring to get something underway with it,so far this is as far as i got in a few weeks with track,I hopeing enough feedback will guide me to a finish! allways many many thanks!
I'd stick with the first part of this choon and turn into a hip hop choon if I were you. Sounds better before the guitar hit comes in, If you get the EQ right on that guitar and beef up the drums that's a damn good hip hop track waiting to be made.
EDIT: No worries, it really could be an awesome hip hop track. If you want a remix done, let me know. : )
Very cool track man! Especially liked how you traded lead guitar and harp back and forth. Abit like Aerosmith, but your style definately shows thru. Another cool tune!!
hey thanks so much starlynx for droping by and reviewing the track! And thanks for the postitives
on it!Glad you enjoyed it!!hope to do more like it soon!
Very good, like the beat and changes.I'll tell you BM, that guitar or should I say the sound/tone of it is becoming a nice signature sound for you when it's added and we both know it's not just the instrument,it's that live touch. It may seem like a small thing but that bar chord you hit,i think it's D,when the drums drop out mid way was very cool, you play it with guitar just once I believe.
Great!
Allen
Hi Allen, thanks for droping in and sendin along a review!Iam sure you will agree, you got to have something in your hands that has musical feel and tone with residenace to make ya connect to what your playing.I truly beleive just as tone matters so much, so does the overtunning the guitar is at! when those to elements are in line and harmonize nicly, its all up to you and how you make it happen! aww yeah the joy of it all!
thanks so so much for your nice comments, greatly apperacte it big time guy!
Hey Ken, thanks so much for your kind words!!
yeah this track was a challege to mix, iam still aming for remix again, got to push your self into ideas that you havent gone there before! Thanks again for the positives on this and be sure keep in ear out for ya!
Hey thanks guy for the nice words,You can down load the tune and edit it and use the riff! anyways kool, i,ll keep tha riff in mind when i do some loops! should be alot of fun!
I really liked it Bri.The contrast of the sweet sounding keys versus the heavier guitar almost paints a picture! And I can dig what your saying about the choices we make.
Hey thanks Tacatta for stoping by and reviewing the track! thanks for your kind words and glad you enjoyed it. yeah, how true the choice we made makes all the differance in what happens in the future.
Is that the Chinese Strat,It sounds great. My Tele is from Mexico and I love it,some people are suprised when I tell them Yes,every part was played with this standard guitar and a small pedal. You have the ear and talent for this and it pays off for you.I like the guitar pan,I heard EVH talkin'about it before and I try to use it myself,it's odd but to me it seems to give a mono guitar part a more seperated and ultimately"stereo"sound, for me anyway.very good Bm.
Oh yea,Great licks also!
HI Allen, thanks for the review here! Yeah thats the Squire Strat with a rosewood fret board on these tracks. I have spent alot of time and money trying different strats out and after years of trial and error on this, the ones I feel really excell in what iam doing are the China, japan and koren strats. The ones made in the mid early 80s are truly musicallity increadable. I also found the rosewood board gets a meaner sound verse the maple boards. One thing, the pick ups do hum a bit in mid and bridge postions, but when iam playing live, its not noticeable at all. In recording you may have to work around it. Iam sure ungrading to noiseless pickups would make a big differance. Also, I have found that every strat needs to be tweeked in someway.I only pay 50 bucks for the one iam using and they can be found all over central florida in the pawn shops. The japan guitars are unreal for tone and feel. There more money, around 300 to 600 dollars, but really worth buying. Also check the old Valvestate marshall amps! I have used over a dozen differnet types and in my opion, you wont beat the old VS models with greenback speakers.I have used a few of them and allways suprize me,even with high ceilings were you need to cover space with the output! also I sometimes double the track after its tweeked to get the stero feild, one thing, it might not be nessary to do some and might make the track more noiser, so you have to use your judgement when doing so! I love working with vocals tracks in the matter and plan on doing son unique stuff shorthly with vocals,Sort of beatles meet arrowsmith in dark alley lol! anyways thanks for the reviews, they are a big assest in making new music, I really like to hear how I can produce better sounding tracks and write better with more meaning!
I liked it Bm,you constructed this tale very well.Yes,I believe the choices you make today will effect days, months and years of the future for you and others even if you don't see it.I liked the guitar and piano mix, great lead and nice ending to bring us home, you did made a good choice here.
HI Allen, thanks so much for taking the time out to review! this track was on the tuff side to mix!
its all ears, trial and error and sometimes thats not enough!! your ears can become fatuige fast if you play back at high dbs, so a nice low volume in the room is diffently the ticket to long mixing hours!! I love it, i grew up in stuidos in New York and it made a very lasting impression on me! I cant wait to do the next track! Thats how this all make ya feel! Keep a big open mind, latch on to some of the great sounds that are availble on looperman and let your self go, You,ll never want to come back!
Hey, I like this track, nice chord progressions and flow in the track.
I think the track would benefit from checking pan and volume, I the drums feels to much in front and pushes the other instruments back.
Having said that, I like this tune and I admit, your description of it. Thanks, man.
/pmk
Hey Thanks Kikajon for the insight on this track, I have to remix it again for the 100th time, it was new ground for me in a few areas and hit some sound inbalances in a few places! theres allways a challage somwhere in recording! one of teh reason I enjoy it so much!
Nice pop rock feel to this track. I would love to hear a lady sing on this track..it has great potential for a superb R&B pop track. Love it. Great job. - Bilbozo
Hi Bilbozo , thanks for the positive review on this! I was tring for a moody sensual feel and staying on that feel thru out the track.Good chance this will be revised in the near future with vocals!
Brian,a lot has been said in other reviews and I agree. This is an important song on many levels,of course to you, and to us as listeners, even if we did not know of your loss.I'm mixed about vocals myself, may sound odd but the music seems so intimate, even with the guitars that it would take something special to speak any more clearly than your music, maybe because I know it's heartfelt and you can hear it,That's your call. Some guitar swells maybe,I hit the note then swell the volume with my pinky,it has been a way of expression and emotion from the guitar for me,
Well done.
Allen
Yeah , Iam with ya there on that, I totaly feel the same with vocals! Its the Pop glmor thing that is a turn off for me in the singing area, I allways liked it in the sence of drama and acting and not just vocal technique. I was one for sole full blusy stuff , but anything entaining has caught my ears in the past that was "out of the box"competely.Should be fun to see what can be mustered up in the music labortory in the near future! thanks for review allen and enjoy all your creative endvors!
I'm sorry it took me so long to get here brian,I didn't know what i was missin'You are very talented my friend.Harp is cool and I can't leave a review without complementing your drums.
Aerosmith lyric from"Last Child"
"Take me back to a south Tallahassee
Down cross the bridge to my sweet sassafrassy
Can't stand up on my feet in the city
Got to get back to the real nitty gritty"
That's what I'm hearin'man, you got a great song here with lot's of attitude.
"I was a last child
Just a punk in the street"
You hit it on the nose Allen, yeah thats what came about here! I grew up with those sounds! They allways got me going! But you know what I waa getting at on this track! The reason for the title! Bad ass girl with the bad ass atitude and mouth! lol!
Great song Brian, you know Wayne is right, maybe a few more guitar fills, only cause you know I love guitar and I cant help but hear lead in everything.I need some drums that sound like yours,Nice clean funky rock sound.I think I'll download, put my headphones on and jam to this one.Yea,I like it that much, seriously!
This kicks ars!
This is really good!I love when the drums come in and out of the track, creates anticipation, like that drum roll it adds a lot,I can't do rolls yet.The whole song is right on.Great guitar nice rhythm it's lite and complimentary building up to the lead then the song gently takes us back home, this is how I like to hear a song constructed .Can't say anymore without writing a book.I think it's one of the best I've heard here for these reasons.
Hey,I need to do a song with that guitar tone.
Well done.
Allen
HI Allen, thanks for the positive review, Really helps me when I get get a reading in what iam doing and how its being interpertated. Helps alot in the next creative venture no dought! I am using a made in China Fender Squire guitar with a rosewood fret board thru a Marshall vs-100 valuestate amp! There easy to use and getting a good assortment of tones comes easy and quick! And there inexpensive also!Have lots of fun and thanks so so much for droping in and reviewing!
Ahhhh a great tune featuring a synth sound in the background and the rain sound. I own a couple of Korg units and have not used them to their full extent.....yet.
The piano sound and strings sound really nice. The guitar playing compliments it all very well. Your playing is good and the overall tone is nice too.
I am sure vocals would add to this tune....but I can't say much as I don't sing, so all of my 27 songs except the last one I put up.....are instrumentals.
Keep up the good work in music creation, add some vocals and you'll jump up the ladder to a new round of success.
Randy
Hey thanks for the positive review Randall!Yeah get those Korgs cooking, they got some wicked stuff on them! I love the triton extreme! I just scratched the surface with them!Got much stuff on the grill ready to fire up, should be a blast!
somehow you get better with every track ...
and you become a very versatile producer!!!
great work man, all you need for it is a singer.
of course I love that guitar chops (great tone!!) ...
but the whole song is very well arranged and thought out, that's good quality my friend ...
Hey there Rei, thanks a mill for the kinds words and positive review ;) I struggled with the mix on this track and still feel its not down yet like I would want it!I took some tips from you big guy in getting some gain on the low end of the guitar and added some some reverb to it.Its funny though, i spent a good part of my past as a lead singer in bands and have worked in recent years with a bunch of dynomite female singers, I just have not decided where to go with it as far as the singing goes, I allways have and am a big fan of guitar and guitar players,Something to put foward I guess. but thanks again for your kind words and keep that rockin roll alive!
Nice track, def some vocals!! I can feel the emotion in this, especially in your guitar playing. Some nice influences here, some hip hop, acoustic, electronic, rock, man, this is some nice work. Great build up into the power chords. Well done!
This is so powerful. Instrumental songs with this much emotion and passion are to few and far between. I lost my father a few years ago, so I can understand the emotions involved in this. I can feel them swell as I listened and read the description. Thank you for turning those feelings into something tangible that has filled me with inspiration. Thank you for sharing this Brian.
Hi Ray, thanks so much for the review,Iam estic I was able to inspire you here with the message of this tune.Allthough its appears to be in the "dark zone" it was ment to be turned into a postitive rock vibe. Not completly sure on how this will finish, I did have lyric and melody idea in mind, I still have to redo most of it on acid, for most of it was lost when my pc crashed and have to retrive the sounds that I used!Something I have to entertain in the near future. I have a bunch of music I was working on when this happened and there ideas are still very fresh in my mind! So away I go on the music grind stone ;) I will diffently give your music my ears!
I love how the song changes character 1:35 in. Some vocals would be interresting as someone suggested earlier.
If I may add another suggestion. Add another guitar track on the opposite side or pan the dist guitar a bit more towards the middle. Having said that, this is a great track. Good job!
