Gord, this just a double triple fav - this is so true and down to earth yet so rising above - for me, man, that's what music is - chris finds the rhymes in the lyric and makes em work so well - the harp/pno updates are so right on - all my respects to you guys - this seriously knocks it outta the park
Hi Micheal, always glad to have you drop in. Chris does a great job singing my lyrics and it always sounds better then I hear it it my head. Thanks and take care Mike.
Gord
Hi John, I'm glad you think enough of the track to fav. it. Thanks man. Ian did an excellent job on the vocals as he had the kind of vocals (sad) that were needed. Take Care and thanks John.
Gord
I think I'd like to take a shot at this one. My voice is kinda raspy, but I think it might be fun. I hear some melodies while listening to your track. What do you think, should I give it a go?
T
Yes, Give it a go. I have somebody working on it right now but I always enjoy hearing someone else rendition and interpetation of my lyrics. So if you want go for it. Thanks very much for your listen and review. Take Care.
Gord
Hi again John, you've been down the road eh. My x and I get along pretty good as friends so it's actually not too bad. Sometimes people maybe are only ever meant to be friends. Whatever works I guess. Thanks again John and take it easy my friend.
Gord
Hi Gord - man i love Chris' interpretation of yr songs - i'll never stop doing the inner kareoke thing, though!
That said, this has so much resonance - soul and terrible sadness - and Justin is so present here, as are you my friend.
It's a courageous and humane song. My thanks and respect to you and Chris.
Thanks so much my friend. I think Chuck gets my lyrics and thoughts very much and really does a nice job singing my tracks. They're always a little different then I sing in my head too, but he always makes them better then me as the writer of the songs could imagine,(if that makes sense).
I wrote this song the next day after, a day of drinking with Justin. He was only back 2 weeks from Iraq after 15 months. The lyrics are my thoughts after that day. I'm sending this track to Justin's brother inlaw who (if he feels it's ok) will forward it to Justin and his wife.
Take care and thanks my good friend.
Gord
That day actually changed me a little bit inside. Yes impressions were left with me along with alot of respect for anyone of any country who ever serves no matter what your faith or beliefs are.
Thanks for the listen and review.

I reminds me of those great songs the Farrely brother's always use in their movies, Like Pete Yorn's "Strange condition". I personally love a stripped down song, but the cleaner you go the more small problems stand out (that's why I haven't attempted it yet). I wish there was more vocal width, but it doesn't interfere with the honesty of the delivery. will add to faves..
Very cool track and great collab. Very inspiring tone in the music. Great lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Congrats on a job well done. - Take good care - Bill Smith ( Bilbozo )
Hi Gord, at the risk of repeating myself, i think yer the best songwriter i've never heard sing - except in my head with every piece - you always find great ways to express your lyrics - you hit home with me every time, it is a different kinda listening experience and one i'm so hooked on, brother - a karaoke of souls, you have a voice is gentle, observant, and clear, my friend.
Thanks so much my friend. Always value your opinion. Maybe one day if I ever find the confidence I'll try and write a track and try and sing it myself. Maybe a few drinks and I could try it. Mind you, I don't think the tech. is far enough along yet to fix up the sound that would come outa me lol. I will try one day though. Take Care friend.
