Hey, bro. Nice combo. It works. Keeps me mellow but doesn't lose my attention. I like the little chime noise that sounds like Mario jumping up for a coin. It kind of brings me back when I start to get carried away in the clouds of this, a wonderful masterpiece. Just messin'. I like it alot! Later.
I don't remember ever hearing this track before. I like it though. It is a cool arrangement. It all blends together quite well. I like the slow ambience along with the hitting bass. The shamisen sounding instrument adds a sort of asian vibe. I will be listening to it on my ride home on the #4 (in a chill slo-mo). Later, Bro.
Nice intro to a very nice track, has little deep forest/enigma sound about it at the start which is so cool, yep one very relaxing piece, really enjoy it man...Thank you..Fav'd...Peace....
Man came across you in another review I was doing so thought would check out your works, liking what I am hearing man, nice piece, good beat, best part for me was when main piano kicked in, very sweet sound, whole track very nice my friend...Peace..adding to fav's matey....
you have a cool existential take on your music, i try to incorporate that into my music as well, on a cognitive level i guess the fact that we exist points to a purpose however it usually doesn't feel like that, good work exploring this mostly undiscovered country
great switch - love how how the tune and arrangements develop, and how different parts come together smoothly.
and the way the track ends is so powerful it brings another sense
to all previous parts!
nicely put together, there is certainly a congruity between the synths and drums which gets this to flow in the right direction- lots of nice details, i love the oriental influences, another nice track!
at first.. i wasn't feeling it..
(err.. i dunno how much i like the drums.. but they are not bad at all!!! just... to me... heh)
but then something happened... and i couldn't stop getting chills.
i love that guitar groan tail end thing... that is quite a cool ambience.
Great Songwriting.
thank you for doing this. i really enjoyed this.
Thanks, I know the drums aren't the best. The were a generically generated loop through Magix. I felt like it worked for what I was trying to do at the time.
I'm glad it effected you in such a manner. Thanks for you kind remarks! Your also very much welcome!
Thanks Alivid for your perspective I guess I never had the feeling for calypso when I came up with this tune. I'm not real familier with that style. As far a the guitar sounding instrument. Every thing was played using that wonderful gem of a keyboard. That wah wah sound comes from the clavi intstrument. Man I do miss that Keyboard. It did have some power for just being a cheaper piece of equipment. I'm glad nOmad23 told you about it. Thanks for the listen and the comments.
Todd - Sweet and Spicy! You've got your own sound happening here (where have I heard that one?), and it's an EXCITING one! The sonic landscape you've achieved with this is awesome - the contrast between the incredibly high pitches and the warbling low tones is great. The transitions are well handled, but more significantly they are compelling. In other words, I don't imagine anyone that begins this track doesn't play it to the end. I really wanted to give you some criticism here, but am unable - it's PERFECT. Are you going to do any more along this line? Please?
Thankyou soo very much NOmad! Your words are so very edifying. It's the wonderful words like your's that motivates me to want to continue to do more musical work like this. Many thanks again!
Your really good at layering. I like peeling away more than anything though. I've kinda made and art form of it. I love the volume fades and attacks. I'm not sure if u did it or if the sample was recorded like that but good job none the less. I really loved it, did i say i Loved It. yeah i loved it. LOL
love the mood you set and then progression to a more hopefull part and back to some despair, the piano has a 80's feel to it, very smart use of going from minor to major to create that emotional down up down up again glad it all ends in a up fashion. The quest to find ones purpose is not really one you make choices in your life that are going to make of your life a meaningfull life that will impact others (making music is one), the real trick is to make the right choices. Peace Love and Freedom to impact other peoples life in a good way.
This song defintely came out of a moment of inspiration. I'm not sure if I was conscious of how the music was flowing in this song, that is just how it came out. I agree with your statement about purpose. Thanks so very much.
Why, Thank you Bri! Glad this tune captured your attention. I beleive that little wah wah sounding instrument is some kind of Clavichord type sound. I'm sure it had been processed through some other effects settings.
Its always fun to be able to mutually appreciate each other's music.
I like how DJMiasmic put it above! I'd like to add that your choice in percussion in conjunction with the sirens really does put the listener on edge. Definite tension there.
The sonic "weirdness" (I use the term affectionately) towards the end really reminded me of later Coil work - specifically "Love's Secret Domain" and it's really effective. The hopeful sounds are in conjunction with the happy singing of machine insects or language elves. Strangely optimistic!
Yes - psychoacoustic phenomena galore! Really interesting arrangement where I was often surprised by the direction it took next. The smooth transitions really add to this element of surprise.
My Man!
This is GREAT! I haven't thought of Frank Tovey (aka - Fad Gadget) for a while and his stuff sprang to mind. Not so much the same style, but certainly you're coming from the same spirit of approach. You found the Soul of that Keyboard with this one - and being a bit of a space-nut myself (you have no idea) I'm thrilled to see someone else that envisions something with BEAT! Yeah!
I'm not familiar with Tovey but You definitley peaked my interest. Its comments like yours that helps inspire me to do the best work I can. Thanks again nomad. Peace.
This was a laid back and gorgeous listen. I agree with Slap that some vocals would add a lot to the track. Really great job with the mix, it has lots of dimension in my headphones.
This song allows me to put my brain on cruise for a while. But it is not mindless-it has interest that keeps me engaged. It sounds good for mentally processing a long day. I enjoyed your other tracks as well- they have an intellectual as well as spiritual side to them that allows me to relax but also feel like I am getting somewhere. You have a good sense of what drum tracks will enhance the mood you are trying to create. It all works very well. Kper
Good groove- a lot of variety of sounds that keep it interesting but something you can bounce along to. It creates an atmosphere that is ethereal but appeals to natural rhythm. I enjoyed the listen.
