Haven't heard this for a while so thought i'd have a listen. I think this is a lot better than the version that i did (the bass was far too heavy in the version that i did)
I do like that vocal hook though so i might have to have another go at it. Musically this is really good, there's not enough trance about on the site at the moment so i'm really enjoying listening to this. Sounding really good on my cheap old pair of skullcandy's.

The title (and style a bit) reminds me of Underworld's excellent Two Months Off. Here's a live version:

Underworld - Two Months Off (KCRW 2011)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7UViEBeSqo

Maybe they were thinking of summer holidays or downtime from touring in a band and you're just thinking of time off a regular job.

Anyway, this really gets moving on 1:14 and that is a classic bassline. Fizzy cymbal stuff works well.

1:43 key change was a bit of a surprise but it works pretty well.

Definitely solid dancefloor stuff.

One thing I'd say is the track is lacking leads as, aside from drums, you're relying on basssline, pads, key changes and stops to provide interest. Slot a lead or two in (eg arpeggiated) and things might get more interesting and have more depth. Just an idea...

Hi mate thanks for review, yes I had forgotten that Underworld track, but the 2 weeks off did ring some bells somewhere!!?? I think theirs is slightly better though! ha ha
I did experiment with some leads (and still have the mix) but it just sounded a bit too crowded. Maybe will remix and post if I come up with anything I think is any good. Thanks for input.

Yeaaa! i can dig it smallpaul! Grooving work with this, has some nice chillout elements to it. Great choosing of loops, and the mixdown is sounding rather clear. Seems like many are improving, glad to see you around man. Very good job, peace

Well the intro is sounding hot and niceley in with the drums. This has a propper retro feeling to it and i'm liking that vibe. Like the way that it changes key and then reverts seemlessly back to the original riff. There's some excellent summer time vibes going on here and i'm glad i dropped in to listen to it.

Thought i'd stay for a second as the last was so good. This one has a more tribal feel to it in the intro then it goes a bit jazzy sounding. Like the incorporation of the vocals, it sounds sweet mate. I gotta try and do some more chill out as this is inspiring stuff. It sounds like something from 21st century soul.
Excellent stuff.

I'm instantly recognising one of Eshar's accapellas (what's happened to that chick?)
Anyway, This is sounding good mate. It's like something off of cafe del mar with a bit of 80's influence. Well mixed and flowing niceley. What do you use for your pad sounds? I don't have anything like that.
Really enjoyed this one and i'm suprized that i hadn't already heard it.

THIS. IS. AWESOME! Im new to looperman. Check out my music as well, looking to collaborate/network. I got most my loops from looperman and recorded my vocals on the beat I created. My friends and family liked it so much they told me to put it on iTunes! Now I'm getting local recognition in my area. Check the song out on my profile, its called "Jonestown Massacre". I would really appreciate HONEST feedback outside of friends/fam... and like I said beat/lyrics/vocals by yours truly done by loops from looperman.

Hi mate thanks for review, I think Mr FreeRadical http://www.looperman.com/users/profile/666289 started this mini mix thing off and i had a bit of writers block so what better than to work on three tracks at once and mix them? ha ha thanks for stopping by will do the same.

Yo. I was going to ask what you're actually doing on this track as you didn't say in the description (damn you). But then I found: "It was a mix of some of my own keyboards some drum programming a various loops from all over the place" so I guess that's my answer.

Lots to like here, though it's not really my kind of thing, and it's some pretty far out dance music (in places).

5:35 third song caught my attention with that brass section playing a good tune. I guess that's a vocal loop too. Sort of dance-pop there but stuff certain to get people moving.

But I think that third track is a bit too repetitive. Needs more variety over the 4 mins. Or to be about a minute shorter. The additional brass parts aren't enough variety, though they are good, some piano and drums etc could do with changing more.

Sorry if that's not a very helpful review - just my thoughts on first listen.

Hi mate thanks for review, Im wondering how many people know where the vocal/speech came from? I had to connect my laptop to our main desktop then play the dvd then manualy record the segment that i needed. Its one of my favourite films.

Awesome work man, I'm really liking all the different sounds to this! The middle is nice and chilled and it picks up energy for the last part, which is probably my fav bit. Vocals work well and some cool brass too!

Thought i'd give this another outing as i haven't heard it for a while. Who says limited to one comment each huh. I do really like this because it doesn't sound like mario on ketamine.
It was quite a bold move releasing this amongst a barrage of Nitr8 remixes. I really like the soft synth sounds you use as i seem to have very little of those in my arsenal. I think my favourite part is the last bit with the old school vibe and the vocals. The trouble with making tracks so long is that i wonder if anyone actually bothers listening to the end. I've had a few comments where people have said they liked both the tracks when there were three but hey ho.
At least they weren't indian robots. Niiice trumpet!

Hey Paul

Love the pads right at the start to set the mood of the track a it builds into the track, great use of the vocal bits in the piece, nice housey synths and beat, this is a funky piece with a touch of groove to wake you up, totally digging the vibe of this one, made morning so far listening to this one, I need to do another house track after listening to this one, haven't done one for about 3 years now, but listening to this one, makes me want to give it another go...Many thanks for sharing this very good listen...Fav mate...Peace n Respect...Mosaic...

Taking a trip back in time to 2009. Sounding good on my headphones, never mind 2009 this is taking me back to 1997 which was a dam good time of my life. Went raving a lot back then to stuff like this and i still love this kind of stuff now. The piano licks and synths are excellent. It's a little bit Paul Van Dyke (when he's having one of his less chessy moments)
Top piece of trance.

I see you've caught the minimix bug. In some ways it's easier than a track because if you get stuck you just fade out and bring in another. I've been working on one that's now about 40 minutes long and boy is it getting tedious.
Anyway, this sounds really great so far, I'm going to take my time with the review as i've got nine minutes of tunage to get through.
Second track has just started now so i'm getting an idea as to how your week off work has been going. It's very deep sounding, I try and do this style of house sometimes but it just always turns into techno.
Wow, it's gone piano house now which is great, like the way you added the vocal to it then picked up the pace with some nice acidic sounds and trumpets and stuff.
Third riff was definitely the best as far as im concerned.
That trumpet thing sounds really authentic. Did you make that or is it a loop?
Anyways nice listening to this.

Hi mate thanks for review, I think you started this didnt you? Great fun to do had a bit of a writing block so rather than try to write one track I worked on three?? Doesnt make sense! It was a mix of some of my own keyboards some drum programming a various loops from all over the place.
