those highs are so crispy on the hi hats and snares yummmy..like bacon popping
i would use less reverb on the vocals or bring it more forward and mix them a little better ..than the track will be glued ! but i enjoyed it ..
The vocal already had the reverb on it so not sure there was much I could do about that. Thanks for the feedback though, will consider that for the future. Cheers.
You can credit them by adding their name.
Sounds really good.
The only thing (and this is probably purely personal to me) after a while it gets to be long.
Maybe just some muzic at points with no vocals to break it up would make it "seem" not as long. But again, that's just me.
Good vibes and flow.
Nice. :-)
Hi, yeah I wondered if it was a bit long myself. It has three verses and I didn't want to cut any of them out but I probably should've done and probably cut the chorus repetition as well at the end. Maybe I'll do a radio edit sometime :) Thanks for your comments though.
Sounds good man. Instrumental gives me retro hip hop vibes with a little early 90's pop. Boy bandish vocal track. Everything fits nicely. Keep creating ~ 4M@.
Nice to make your acquaintance Lek, it's good to hear your music. I dig your voice man, it fits well with your music. Solid production all around. Thanks for sharing mate.
Not my voice unfortunately. Not attempted a vocal track since a backing vocal I did when I was in a band was removed and rightly so lol as it was awful. Thanks for the welcome though.
Just rediscovered this one, Lek. On reflection, I'd like to hear the lead vocal without the phaser/vocoder or whatever you applied as processing. The backing vocals are very nice. Instrumental backing track is excellent for the genre. I guess it is 80's sounding, but that's just fine with me. Enjoyed hearing this a second time. :)
Very much enjoyed this one as well, Lek. I can see this being performed live. I'd use the melody line as the hook that weaves in and out of the track, functioning as a chorus I'd write a vocal part for it, possibly just verses because the hook would work as the chorus section. To me, it's got a bit of a Depeche Mode feel to it. It's old school, but very tasty! :)
So, this track has a very menacing feel to it. Tension. Aggressive! I think it could definitely be used as part of a soundtrack. Dark, narrow, twisty streets. Innocent potential victim on foot, running almost blindly trying to evade whomever is chasing him/her. Something like that. This track very definitely evokes that kind of emotion, at least in me. That's the mark of good music, I think. Nicely done.
Hey, Lek. Saw your response to the forum post by Loopspringstein and decided to check out your stuff here on Looperman. This track definitely ranks among the most professional sounding tracks I've heard here.
I'm just working through some of your other tracks now, but my immediate reaction is that I'm astounded they have so few listens. I guess it is because you don't set them as "featured" so members aren't as likely to find them. That's a shame because this is really good work. Your mixes are excellent. Very clear and defined. Nice arrangements.
I prefer the "Electronic" tracks over the beat core, but that's purely a matter of taste, not a reflection of the production quality.
Hey Eric, I've literally only just seen your comment so wasn't ignoring you. I really appreciate your comments though. I'm never convinced my masters are up to scratch as I do them all myself and I always find fault with them no matter how much time I spend on them so to hear you say that is really encouraging so thanks again. If I could afford to pay to have them professionally mastered then believe me I would as it is the part of music production that I like the least - probably because it takes so long and I'm never entirely happy with the result.
With regards to the breakcore type stuff, I dabble in that from time to time as I have a few friends who are into that genre and I like listening to it as well and it kind of mixes things up as my approach to writing those tracks is drastically different to the electronic tracks so it makes a nice change to work on those types of tracks.
Once again though I really appreciate your feedback. Maybe one day I will put up a featured track then ha ha.
The drums sound very clean. The vocals work really well with the ambient pads. I'm used to DNB so hearing a similar genre with minimal bass is interesting. Awesome track.
Saw your response in the collab forum posting to the singer who was looking for a producer for "experimental pop". I have no idea what that is, but I actually like pop (or at least some of it) so decided to check out the Looperman members who responded. Just wanted to say that you do really nice work! I'm very impressed with the clarity and balance of your mixes. I'm currently struggling with a very muddy mix. Too much boomy bass and to much reverb I think. You set a good example of how to do it right! :)
Thanks man, really appreciate the feedback. I've actually re-mastered that track now on SoundCloud a couple of times over at least so if I've totally ruined it now I apologise in advance ha ha. I've still got loads to learn mixing/mastering wise so I'm forever going back and re-tweaking and still not be happy with the result so to hear you say that is great news!
