Hi MrEB,
Short track, right at the point.
I liked everything: from the nice intro sounds to the soft rhythm introduced by the percussion.
The marimba and harpsichord really make me think of two puppies jumping around and playing together.
And the lead guitar adds a touch of "live feeling" to it.
Very well done!
Ciao, Domenico
Thank you so much for the lovely comment. The whole idea was to portray their cuteness and innocence. Hope i was able to pull of at least 50% of that...
What a pleasant song! Short sweet and to the point. It really conveys your intention. Nice choice of instruments as well.
It's actually at a good volume I think, allows me to turn up my volume knob a bit. A rare thing these days with the misuse of limiters and compressors.
Thanks a tons for your kind words Wayne! Glad to know you enjoyed:)
And it really feels great when your emotions are successfully conveyed to your listeners. And about the volume, somewhere i feel the beginning is really not audible, hence, it needs some boost there. Will level it nicely once i take up this track.
I'm relistening to your track and one suggestion: I'd add something like a nice airy pad or strings on the segments following the 1:09 mark, to carry the build up of the drums and fill the space; it would allow the momentum to sink into the listener's mind and be absorbed and provide a nice satisfactory "ahhh" feeling to this part and give the song a present but soothing climax.
Thank you for giving it another listen brother! And I think you're right. I should've added something there. The only thing is this time I wanted to avoid using synths & FX, I controlled a lot on technical aspects this time. But yeah, I will definitely try some Airy pad there. And yes, I assure the end will be changed :) sounds little abrupt right? Will definitely do something about it.
Nice to see your likeness here on the Loop again man! Hope all has been well! This one is TOTALLY dog-commercial worthy! I can so hear it behind some national Iams dog ad with the tagline "release the wild in your dog" or something haha. I love the drums! They're awesome. Beautiful exciting, happy buildup and tops off with that neat and simple guitar solo. Keep up the awesome work, Ether! I want MORE!!
HAHAHAHA!!! Man you have no idea how eagerly I wait for your feedback on my tracks "ER"!! All is well & i trust All's well at your end too! And yes, "Release the wild in your dog" was too good!! Really appreciate your words and m glad you liked the arrangement. And yes, I'll keep coming back if not to upload tracks, but to have your comments on them. Take care.
nice one. creative and enjoyable. I liked harpsichord and lead guitar additions. very lovely little piece.
everything is sounding right in here, well done! Alex
Thank you so much! This is the first time I played with Harpsichord & Marimba and I enjoyed it. Looking forward to using them more often in my future tracks.
We lost our dog last year...he was 15 and had wonderful life...we had too with him...:-)
This songy reminds me lots of memories with him...from his puppy age til death...thankx for this magical 2 minutes...
Let me hug you first Danke! I am sorry about your loss, Glad to know you liked the track and even more glad to know that you could relate to it. Hope this track adds to your beautiful memories with him.
Hey this is pretty cool! I went into it not remembering the theme, but hearing this has made me realize it's buried somewhere back there. Good use of stock sounds and all, and I think it could be way better with some deep and personal synthesis instead. I agree with the depeche mode comparison, especially for certain sections. Definitely an enjoyable listen! Fave!
Glad to connect with you & thanks for your kind words & favorite. I agree with you about the sounds, probably when i work again on this track, i'll take care of. If only, I had full version of FL then. Anyways, I use to listen to depeche mode a lot that time, and hence, it showed. :)
It's funny. I read "Exorcist" but for whatever reason, my brain went to Halloween. So when I clicked play, I was thinking, "Wait..what?" Then, I re-read the descriptions and all was clear. Honestly, I never thought the Exorcist was that fantastic, so I don't really remember the theme. But that's okay. I can go into this with a completely open mind, and have no preset expectations. Which, generally, makes for a much more free listening.
For a FL demo, this is pretty good. Their stock sounds and samples are usually pretty weak and require a ton of processing to get a fairly decent sound. Knowing that, and knowing that this wasn't mixed at all makes it that much more impressive.
With that, welcome to Looperman. I hope you enjoy your stay.
I think Exorcist theme is among those tunes which is Visually oriented and is perfect for the visuals. And that theme stayed with me in a pretty strong way after I finished watching the movie. Neither the horror, nor daughter's face haunted me as much as this theme. Don't know but i found the theme terrifyingly catchy. May be that Devil made me do this rendition :p hehe.. anyways..
Thank you for all the kind words brother, and yes, lot of tweaking & processing went into making this little piece.. and that's why i didn't get time for the proper arrangement of this song. I am definitely gonna re-work on this song. :)
I cant really recall the original although anyone who watched the movie is unlikely to forget it...(the music from the Lord of The Rings movies has really been catching my attention lately)...Totally agree with your idea of taking the musical template in your own direction and creating your own version...This is really well done EB...you are obviously a very talented musician....great track......Ed
Thanks again for giving it a listen and all the kind words. Yes there is a high possibility people not mite remember the theme, I did this for a very simple reason, My Rendition! And Yes, LOTR Score is Epic... Just love everything about the movie. Try something out if your heart says brother. Thanks again.
I like this alot! You kept the same sound and added your own style and creativity to this. You just remade something in your own vision, with incredible results. I encourage you to do this more. Cheers!
Glad you liked it brother. I like to do these kind of tracks a lot because everytime i like a tune or any piece of music, i like to improvise on it and try to make it my way, as in if i had composed this tune, how i would have executed it. Thank you so much for the encouragement and really appreciate your kind words.
Hi MrBlu (or should I call you MrEther?)
Very good track.
I like the "subtle" change at 1:15 and the subsequent slow synth melody.
Maybe the sounds around 3:05 are a bit too "dance-ish" for my taste, but this is only my personal point of view. And there are enough good things in this track to make me love this part as well :-)
Around 4:00 the atmosphere is a bit "depeche mode" (don't ask me why, but that's what I feel here).. good :-)
I like a lot the crescendo in the final section, which leads then to the closure of the song. Good.
Good choice of sounds and the arrangement works well: the song is never boring (this is not always the case with "electronic" music).
I can certainly hear a connection with the original score with the appegiated synth. The song and the recording are very cool and it sounds great here on my speakers, nice full mix. Interesting updated version of the original, like a club mix, sorta.
When I tried the FL demo years ago I was able to export about 1.5 minutes of a mix through the Edison plugin somehow. It allowed me to save at least the basic idea while I tried the software.
Thank you so much for giving it a listen. I really love the exorcist theme and while i was learning music programming, just for the sake of understanding some parameters, i thought of re-creating some song and i heard this theme. I started off and didnt stop for 5 hours until i realised it was taking a good shape and was regretting to know its a darn demo version. But yes, I will definitely work again on this theme.
Thanks for the kind words wayne. Really appreciate it.
