Glad to hear your opinion Evisma! I was having trouble making the vocals sit nicely in the track so I had to rearrange EQs on the vocals to make them sit better, might've removed some of the uniqueness from them in that regard. Thanks for the listen!

Yeah, the drummer Freddie has been playing drums for 15+ years now so he's a mature musician haha. He's got his timing down - it was the other instruments that weren't so perfect haha. :P Thanks for the listen!

If I recall correctly, this one took me about a week to finish and polish off. I started off with her vocals and added more and more until it sounds like it does now :P

This is my best work as of yet. Still a few tiny, tiny issues that I need to flesh out in future recordings, but this new software (PT9) is definitely a step up from PT6 haha.

The amazing thing to me is that I did all this with the bare minimum in terms of recording stuff. All I had to record was an MBox 3 with a L and R channel haha. I had to "mix" the drums from the kit itself and hope for the best haha. Thankfully, my ear was decent enough to get it close to where it needed to be, balanced-wise.

Yea, they're all in their 30s haha. They're old bandmates of my oldest brother Ernie haha. I invited em to jump in on the track and they were happy to oblige haha! Was very fun to record.

The key to it is to practice with a click track! I used to sit and play for hours till I could play on time with no problem. Maybe that might help you with your rhythm too :)

Thanks Greg! Personally, I think I'm going to change that acoustic sound up a bit. I dont like the way the delay makes it sound in a car. Sounds...well, ugly. But I appreciate the kind compliments sir :P

I understand your viewpoint, promenade :) But I must admit that the utter excitement I get at hearing a beautifully and emotionally-perfected mix on the radio with a crystal-clear signal steals my heart away everytime. It drives me to want to keep improving, hearing the perfection some radio songs bring. You don't understand my love for a beautiful mix :) I'm drawn to it like a moth to light. I will sit down and critique a mainstream hit - what I don't like and what I do like -and try to figure out what they're doing in their mix for hours. The emotion such beauty evokes within my very being is too intense to explain with words :P I agree that there are many old songs out there that are good though. I have a rock song that will be arriving on the Loop soon :P It's my first published work off of my new rig!
