I meant dull as in all of the components seem to just lay on top of each other. Nothing pops out. Maybe a little stereo separation, or mixing each instrument separately while tweaking the highs, mids, and lows. different things work. I don't think it's bad though. Just advice.
I think that this is a good track. I also think that your selection of instruments and synths with a dull mix are holding it back. I hear where it's going. I like it. It just isn't perfect. Ill be listening. keep it up.
This is pretty good. My favourite part was the initial intro. You should bring that back and find ways to twist it up and make more of it.
Mix is good - everything sits nicely. Much better hip hop drums than most tracks on here - just for the simple reason that they're not repetitive loops but you move from hi hat changes to bell ride.
Good quality drum sounds too. Where are they from? I use Superior Drummer but these drum sounds are also good.
I'd say a lot's missing from this as it's so short.
Vocals are the obvious addition but instrumental could work just fine too. As long as you have the instrumental skills to further it!
Try taking the MIDI notes of your piano parts and then copying them to other synths and then editing them, changing key, reversing them and so on.
Much more can be made out of this track and I could suggest things all day but I'm not sure what you do ie if you play any other instruments.
It I was working on it, I'd try adding some different guitar and bass ideas and then see if they encouraged other synth playing around/in between those parts.
In my opinion there is no greater than a hip hip track with real instruments and at least if not real, sounding real. Kick ass track man. If u feel something might be missing, my suggestion would be to possibly add a break or pause somewhere/s u think appropriate, and maybe a light synth track mixed in the back ground. Probly would sound good to do it on the chorus, but i assume thats not the piece of body you feel was lacking. So maybe if u take the same synth idea and change it slightly with each piece of the song u use it in. My musical terminology is rough so bare with me on the suggestions, lol but great work!!
Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. Think I'll try throwing some synths in there or another instrument. 00:24 is where is seems too empty. This is why I make my tracks so short, they sound too repetative. Sure they would sound good with vocals, but with all the downloads I never hear anything done with them. Thanks again, I'll use your advice when I redo this one.
Yeah I like this one.... Maybe splice the end piano sample in the middle somewhere to break it up silence it out then come back in with a bam, hittin us with the main again and then back out to the final bit... people love to get worked up, pause a little and then have it ranked up...
Maybe u right about the bass but it depends how u like it... I'd wanna see some killer vocals to match this nothing less.
Keep up the good work!
