Right about now, I'm thinking about something from Weather Report concerning what you've done here. I don't know why, it's just the first thing that came to me.
I have only heard of Thelonius Monk and John Coltrane, but I have never really heard alot of their music. I'm just guessing that you listened to them and you have come out with your art. More work for me on guitar practice.
I don't know who or what satie is, but I have liked these chords since I was a kid. They are used on Santana's song, Incident at Neshabur which is my favorite thing that he has ever done.
It seems like you provide the complete package with everything you do. If you ever play at the House of Blues in New Orleans, I would definately want to see that. I've never been there, but I would go to see that. The Vogue theatre in Indianapolis needs to be livened up as well, and you would be the ticket. You and Alex Machacek playing together would be phenomenal.
Finally! A piano that I get to play along with on guitar. Actually, those type of chords I need to learn on guitar but I'll just do the triads, or diads or whatever. I'll think of something because I like this. -JR
I don't know why, but when I hear this, I think of Miles Davis and maybe a symphony orchestra mixed together. I try to do what you did here, when I play guitar, but unfortunately it's not the same. If it's hard to sing to yourself, then I like that, as well as this. -Jim
I have finally signed up on this thing and I've been a fan [of yours] for awhile. I mean, I've listened to Pat Metheny and stuff but this song makes me feel like I'm on a cruise without actually going. On another note, I like the song "Jozy" , off of Adventures in Radioland and I like to do the saxaphone part on guitar because I always have liked that last split second "slam" type of thing which I saw Dan Gottlieb do when he was down south as well. That also sounds right up your alley. -Jim
You know, I was in Guitar Center, and I usually play guitar but sometimes I hang around just to hear the drums or people play. So I come here and hear you do something that has that jumpy feeling I like and yet rarely ever hear. I have absolutely no clue how you do this. It's like a song all by itself. Amazing!
Unfortunately if you where to throw me behind a drumset I suck.. but I learnt the drums so I could better sequence and perform in general.
With this loop I used brushes on a Yamaha Kit, and then I resampled myself... and then cut all the fat right?
So after cutting all the silence and me dropping or hitting the sticks, I use volume fades on every hit and then get them to succinctly piece together.
I watch a lotta of Tutorials on drumming or drummers doing showcases and then double-time their performance and place the sound files in order..
So in reality I am a digital drummer, but I would like to think this is awesome... Notice on the Ride and hats?.. this is impossible for a real drummer because he does not have 3 hands.. but it sounds awesome so whatever lol
Wow, this has an excellent feel to it. I was trying to think of something that might relate to this and I thought of Bossa Nova, except this moves faster and more smooth. I want to get in some guitar work with this one. Thanks alot! -Jim
I've looked all over for some "running" type of jazz sounds, and you beat them all. I might use the octave for bass, but mainly for use with guitar. I like that slight jumpy feel you have which is perfect for what I do. Thanks again. -Jim
I've heard of "smooth" jazz on yahoo's music, but this sample has them beat. You might call this one the Coolective. Not smooth but cool. I wanted something to practice with guitar, and this is perfect. -Jim
I mainly want to find something to use with guitar type of practice, so this is excellent! Thanks for making this available. It moves at a good pace and stays smooth. -Jim
This is a fun drum section for me to use with guitar practice. It sure beats buying a metronome. I like it also because it doesn't have a synthesizer disco sound mixed with it. Excellent job!
This is perfect for some single note stuff and chromatic practicing on guitar. That's pretty much what I like to do and this is excellent. It has a kind of funky type feel, and I get the notes plus some chords going on as well. Thanks for making this available!
I should.. make more.. I dunno.. I need to watch what loops work for people and what don't..
This was made with a real Yamaha kit for the cymbals.. but as I remember I think I just used stock Tom-toms and then my trusty 808 drum machine.. it's a bietch to program but I like the results..
You'd probably love all my drum loops if this works for you lol
