your rock loops speak to my teenage soul. question: doesn't an electric guitar play directly through the amp? where does the mic come in? this creates a certain kind of sound, I guess? thanks in advance for dealing kindly with my ignorance.

MWRatridge replied 10th Nov 2013 - 11 years ago
ty man....before i got the roland cakewalk interface i was mic'ing my amp. now i plug in directly. but yes it gives and honest clean tone.

on JFW - Melodic intro part 1 by jfw
when i was in school our wind ensemble did a bass by Joseph Schwantner that used glass crystals. is that the sound here?
jfw
jfw replied 7th Jan 2013 - 12 years ago
Looking at the date that I did this, it's a few years ago now so I honestly can't remember what I used. I do know that no crystals were involved though. I hope you find a good use for it.

Cheers, Jamie.

on nv piano lovephilter dst 120 by 3rdNippleMusic
neat. what is the aftertouch sound? can't be pure effect? It has a rhythm!
3rdNippleMusic
3rdNippleMusic replied 5th Jan 2013 - 12 years ago
honestly man, I did this lasty year before a data loss, but I believe it's the delay on the piano just going thru the love philter with waveshaper on it that accounts for the rhythm mate.

: )

on nv - tribal toms 70 by 3rdNippleMusic
your suggestion for "Sparkling Summer" has created an opening for me. i always forget that sometimes the most powerful elements are the simplest. this 3 toms groove does give me an inspiration for a groove for my little orchestral track. thank you

neat filthy grimy sound! i guess the no-brainer would be to place somethng way on the other end of the spectrum, way up high, against it.

a very interesting (and complex) sound for sure. yup - I can imagine the EQing would be a challenge. but might be worth it. this kicks.

thanks, everything you hear was intentional to make it sound more live. Like an audio clip instead of just a loop

IMHO, you have a great feel for traditional string writing, Mike. And of course no question you get it as far as writing with a story or narrative in mind. you have proved that a few times already for my site. keep it up brother. regards. dan
