That snare is beautiful. I'd kill more more samples with a snare like that. Nice and fat and punchy. Mind giving some hits or tips on making that bad boy?
1. Short/medium reverbs.
2. Take out most everything up to 200hz, then boost at 200hz. This will make it a lot more punchy.
3. Compression, compression, compression.
4. Use a transient shaper; this will make it more hard-hitting by adding volume information to the beginning and taking away from the end.
5. If you want to get creative, layer snares and EQ the parts you like from each one. That's what I did for this one; I got a punchy snare, EQ'ed out the highs, got a good high-frequency snare, EQ'ed out the low mids and bass, added a reverb onto the higher one, bounced them into one and compressed it all.
