It's a hand-held drum with cymbals hanging of the sides, its called the Riq drum..
Another Mid-East instrument similar to the Riq is the Sagat (Mini cymbals wrapped around a finger and fun, you clap them together) - Only Arab gypsies and belly dancers use it..
