Matthew, thanks so much for sharing your loop. I made this song out of it yesterday. Great, melodic loops are really the starting point for me -- kind of a challenge to turn it into something that someone else would enjoy listening to -- so, again, really appreciate you sharing. Hope you like the song.
Hey man thank you for the loop again i really liked it lmk what you think of the beat in the comment section i tried my best with this one cause i kept switching a lot of things. Also i have been using some of your loops for almost a month and your the only experienced person in like lofi type stuff i hear and i cant find anyone else to give me advice or tips in my lofi songs do you think you can if you do id really appreciate it thanks. https://soundcloud.com/user-380351255/im-in-painprodvoodoo
I left this as a comment on the track on SoundCloud but I'll put it here incase you miss it on SoundCloud.
I love how this sounds especially the drums! You did an awesome job here, this song diffidently captures a lofi vibe. Some advice I'd give would be to chop up the samples to use in small sections to create a stuttering tape effect. Playing around with filters in small amounts can be useful for lofi songs too, it removes some repetition here and there. Sometimes a vocal sample from a movie/anime/speech can work nicely over the top of a track especially at the beginning and middle of the track, if you do use vocal samples I'd recommend using clips from old movies as the natural sound of the recording is very lofi but this isn't necessary. My favorite thing about writing lofi music is that there is so much room for creative freedom in the genre and you can't really do much that is "wrong". You've managed to capture that lofi vibe very well. In my personal experience the easiest way to write lofi is to keep the track fairly slow and emotional. Hope this feedback helped. Great track!
