Yeah I have been experimenting all morning and I found a really good balance for getting that jungle sound.
It was a moderate Compression of 2:30 to 1, with some bit-crunching. Then Tape Saturation was KEY, and the thing that took me ferever to figure out was the damn 8,000 hertz to 9,400.. You gott make sure there's that hi-cut or it just sounds horrible when making jungle loops me thinks.
Final thought too was long-tail reverb on the snares, but with gates.. Took a lot to taste but I got this EPIC proportion that just worked perfectly.

It sounds like you might be too much toward the clip point on these. Try mixing to -6db or less as a safegaurd. The beats are good though as I'm still downloading this to use in future songs.

Bah. Yes Dan has them.. I wrote this really eloquent reprisal about drums and whatnots.. and now I am very upset it didn't get posted because of forbidden words.
You know, I was in Guitar Center, and I usually play guitar but sometimes I hang around just to hear the drums or people play. So I come here and hear you do something that has that jumpy feeling I like and yet rarely ever hear. I have absolutely no clue how you do this. It's like a song all by itself. Amazing!
Unfortunately if you where to throw me behind a drumset I suck.. but I learnt the drums so I could better sequence and perform in general.
With this loop I used brushes on a Yamaha Kit, and then I resampled myself... and then cut all the fat right?
So after cutting all the silence and me dropping or hitting the sticks, I use volume fades on every hit and then get them to succinctly piece together.
I watch a lotta of Tutorials on drumming or drummers doing showcases and then double-time their performance and place the sound files in order..
So in reality I am a digital drummer, but I would like to think this is awesome... Notice on the Ride and hats?.. this is impossible for a real drummer because he does not have 3 hands.. but it sounds awesome so whatever lol
This is perfect for some single note stuff and chromatic practicing on guitar. That's pretty much what I like to do and this is excellent. It has a kind of funky type feel, and I get the notes plus some chords going on as well. Thanks for making this available!

This was made with a real Yamaha kit for the cymbals.. but as I remember I think I just used stock Tom-toms and then my trusty 808 drum machine.. it's a bietch to program but I like the results..

This drum loop has a good pitch and pace and walks a line between street cred independent and commercial reality which is fantastic. It adds credibility to our presentation because it sounds professionally produced, is dynamic, pure and raw enough to sound original and creative. This loop could be used on a myriad of productions, but in this case we'll use it an internal presentation to garner some new business.
I just hope the sound can get you the attention you'll need.

This drum loop has just the right feel and pace for my new authored presentation for my boss. Our DVD will be to hopefully get us some new business so I'm hoping we get some requests about the music so I can direct that to AlividLife's other great work.
