Description
RaPG is an analog-style arpeggiator that can be run at audio rate for a quirky sound generator or locked to a tempo to generate inspiring melodic and rhythmic phrases based on a seed-based random sample-and-hold.
Features Robin Schmidt's TriSaw morphable oscillator which can be morphed (not crossfaded!) into tri, saw, square, sine, anti-sine, and everything inbetween, giving tones that range from chiptune squares to warm analog saws.
Rhythm And Pitch Generator’s synthesis engine is based around two main components – an analog-style arpeggiator and Robin Schmidt’s TriSaw morphable oscillator which is used to generate the sound on the output. The synthesizer also features an ADSR envelope with adjustable curves and velocity sensitivity, oversampling support, and a built-in preset manager.
Thanks to its ability to operate at audible rates, the arpeggiator can be used to generate a variety of quirky sound effects and blazingly fast sequences. The rate can be automated to create build-ups or slow-down effects, whereas the clock dividers can be set to various values while allowing the plugin to arrange them into a series of rhythms. Users who are more into conventional sequencing can sync Rhythm And Pitch Generator to host tempo and input notes manually or generate completely random melodies.
The oscillator is an equally exciting component of Rhythm And Pitch Generator, being capable of gradually morphing between triangle, saw, square, and sine waveforms. It is based on Robin Schmidt’s TriSaw morphable oscillator which provides true waveform morphing, as opposed to simply cross-fading between different waveform shapes. The oscillator section also features a low-pass filter, along with the phase, pitch, frequency, and pitch modulation controls.
