I'm known to my friends as Cake and my family as Jake. I'm 18, but have been interested in listening to and producing electronic music since a very young age, and more so at the age of 14.

I can play guitar and keyboard pretty basically, but with a computer you can layer and edit anything you record easily, so it's not that important in the field I'm in.

I tried Ableton, but it wasn't for me. So, I've stuck with Reason and FL Studio, but other softwares such as Cubase and Logic interest me.

I have a different "listening to" every week, so I really couldn't say. 2013 was big for deep house, and I can happily say I enjoyed good music everywhere for a change.

Along with all other artists that I've listened to and watch turn into even better producers over the past few years, I'd have to say my dad is the biggest influence to me. Without him, I would barely have any equipment or any musical knowledge - so thank him.

My drum and bass productions sound a lot like heavy talents such as Billain, Forbidden Society, Noisia, Phace, The Upbeats, and Optiv & BTK. On the other hand, any dubstep I produce is more deep - what dubstep should be like. Similar to Skream, Biome, etc.

If I'm not with my friends/girlfriend, I play PC games such as DOTA2 and MineCraft, or play tennis and skateboard. When it's not leisure time, I study for my A-Levels. I'm concentrating on Maths, Physics, and Law and hoping to further study Physics at Uni.
