I’m Louis (L.O.U.I.S. Breaks) born in the late ’70s and raised during the birth of House, Breakbeat music. I started making music on a Amiga 500, experimenting with samples and sequencers long before modern DAWs existed. After years focused on work and family life, I’ve returned to music with the same passion for underground dance culture that inspired me back then. My breaks blends 90s-inspired dance and breakbeat energy with classic vinyl samples, dusty records collected from thrift stores and , oldschool grooves and vintage hardware.
For Looperman, unfortunately I can’t use vinyl, so I’m turning to my original Akai sampler library that I’ve collected over the years for my own sampler.

I developed and programmed my own audio software (NOT AI) to create and tweak sounds, and to automate certain parts of the beat-making process.

I’ve been listening to house and electronic music since I was young, and it has always been a big inspiration in my sound. At the same time, my taste in music is very broad , ranging from rock, dance, and hip hop to classical and beyond. I enjoy many different styles,
Too many classics to choose from.
Early house and rave culture of the late ’80s and ’90s. Oldschool hip hop sampling, and the raw energy of early club music. I’m also influenced by rock, classical music and a wide range of genres, which all shape my sound in different ways.
Raw, sample-driven house and breakbeat with 90s energy, dusty vinyl textures, and vintage hardware grooves.
In my other life, I’m a married father of three daughters and I work in healthcare, caring for people with disabilities.
