Honestly I don't know, I'm still a beginner and as of writing this I'm starting to make more "original" sounding music. But, when I began producing I usually did stuff like remaking a bass/drums/synth/piano/etc part from a song I really liked then tweaking it until it didn't sound like I copied the song, then I'd do other things on top until it became somewhat original.
