on Missing you by Effluence
After listening to your last piece I wanted to hear more, despite the fact that I should go to bed lol). I'm liking what you're doing here, speech then actual singing, back to speech. It fits so well. Genius.

I am most impressed by the lyrics. the whole piece is great, but you have a substantial amount of lyrics with no rep. Awesome job.

I try not to be too repetitive with the rhymes. I feel like there's enough of that out there already. lol. Thanks John.

Nice piece, love what you did to the vocals. Would you mind sharing what effects you used? Great overall performance.

Hey John, it was simple. I originally had a demo version of the Acid Pro, which is where I mixed the loops originally. I eventually bought Acid 7.0 and opened the song as one loop and then, I record the lyrics on my iphone voice recorder(since I already had this). Then I convert the voice memo into a MP3 so that I can open it in Acid. Then I skip the beatmapping (which will always throw the tempo off). Then I open the effects option in Acid, and I turn on the distortion and adjust the %(0-100) until I like the sound. I also will enable the "Hard Clipping" and adjust the equilibration(Bass, Mid, Treble) on the lyrics. It's always different for each song, because I just mess with the lyrics and the song until I like the sound. Thanks!

on Bloodletters and Badmen (Instrumental) by guitarjock
I think this is a great little piece. With regard to the drums, you might try mixing a different drum track with the existing one. I've use the technique a few times and have enjoyed the result. Awesome piece, looking forward to more.

Thanks for checking it out. I am looking at a couple of different ideas on the drums. I hope to have some more time to work on some loops and tracks again soon. Right now work is going to keep me busier than ever for a while though. I hope to have some new stuff up by this next weekend though. Thanks for the review. I will check some of your tunes out.

This would be an incredible song for a trailer to a movie. The buildup in the song would go well with the build up of suspence some trailers use to draw the viewer in. Then, of course, it would have to be theme of the movie itself. Absolutely awesome piece.

Thanks for your very kind review, John59. I love the emotions movie trailer songs create so I think I like to tap into that a little. I'm new at this so still experimenting around but I am happy with how this one turned out. I will be waiting for Steven Spielberg to give me a call (just kidding). Thanks again for the review. Kper
