It couldn't have been expressed better. Plus, it has a catchy melody that draws you in. But I think we all are, and we also treat others a bit like ghosts. The classic saying, "We don't know what we have until it's gone." Good job.
I agree with everything that's been said before. I can't give you my opinion on mixing or mastering, because I don't even know how to do it for my own tracks, haha. But what I do know is that what I hear sounds good; it sounds clear, crisp, and has a well-defined rhythm. I think it's a very good foundation for creating a great track, as others have mentioned, adding lyrics that draw the listener into the story you tell. I think you're doing a good job.
I liked it. I found it a very complex composition; I wouldn't know where to begin to create something like that, haha. It's lucky to have people here with years of experience who can offer their advice. Good work!
Clap, clap, clap... (applause)
Spectacular, like everything you do. And I love the sound you achieve; it feels like I'm at a live performance, like you're right there in front of me.
I'm going to SoundCloud right now to listen to it.
Congratulations on the great music you do and the sensitivity of your songs.
Hi Juan, I saw you spent a lot of time on our profile. Thank you so much for all the likes! And thank you for your kind words here. Who knows, maybe we'll meet in person in Spain someday.
When I started listening, I was about to skip to the next track, but the more I listened, the more hooked I became, and it stayed that way until the end. It was like I was being hypnotized by those background sounds and that voice in the foreground. I'm really glad I listened to the whole thing because I liked it. Great job!
Hi.
I just answered your question about how I wrote the lyrics and vocals for "Breathing in the Light." But it says I can only write 300 characters, and I'm not sure if you'll receive the whole message. So I'm also answering here, which allows 3000 characters.
Since I don't speak English, I used Chat GPT to create English lyrics, changing the words from my original Spanish idea so that it would rhyme in English, but still retain the spirit of my Spanish song: feeling at peace and safe with another person, leaving behind fears and inner darkness, feeling like you're letting go of negativity, ultimately finding inner peace.
Then, using those lyrics in SUNO, I told them I wanted an a cappella female voice for a chill house track, the chord progression is B-Ebm-Db-G#m, tempo 120 BPM, each chord lasts 8 bars. A soft, ethereal, and sweet female voice, with a warm and emotive tone. The performance is intimate and expressive, with whispery textures and clear pronunciation.
Avoid heavy vibrato or aggressive delivery. Keep it smooth, calm, and hypnotic.
It didn't come out right the first time, but I finally got the result I was looking for.
Then it was a matter of adapting the musical base I already had and playing around with the sounds.
I think it's a good song. I hope someone can help you; I'd love to hear the result. I'm not adding anything because it would only make it worse, haha. Anyway, I've already downloaded it. Congratulations!
Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to give me all these explanations. I've already downloaded Sitala to start using it. And I'm blown away by all the effects available for JSFX (I didn't know what it was). I just tried "JS: Ping Pong Pan" on a track and I loved it. I'll see if I can gradually learn how to use these things. I learned what automation was in the last song, and I only used it to control the volume of some sounds and prioritize the vocals.
Thanks again.
I loved it! Especially those effects with such definition, that stereo effect, particularly the percussionI have to learn how to do that. The voice narration is the icing on the cake. Great job.
Thanks, glad you like it. The vocals are used mostly as is, only some chopping and one word pitched a tiny bit. The percussion is a different story :) I mostly use Sitala(1) to create my drums, 16 sample positions with shape, tuning, volume, compression, tone and pan knobs, and all om those knobs can be used in your DAW's automations. The Sitala audio can be routed to 16 stereo channels in the DAW, and that is what I did, so you have full control for each "instrument". In this track I have automations on the kick (Shape, Volume, Tuning) and hand clap (Tone, Tuning). The kick Volume could also been handled via the separate audio track, but as I was playing with several automations on the kick at the same time it was better to have them in one place. On the separate audio tracks I have FX effects on snare, closed hi-hat, hand clap, maraca and rim shot:
Snare: "JS: Ping Pong Pan" a JSFX tool to have the pan gliding back and forth (standard in REAPER, you can even see/mod the code).
Hand Clap, Maraca and Rim Shot have "JS: Echo Cycles (by Geraint Luff)" a tool for setting up a delay triggered by note or LFO with many controls.
REAPER handles JSFX natively but there is a VST for other DAW's.
Check https://www.realinks.net/links/ysfx/ for the VST to run JSFX https://www.realinks.net/links/saike-jsfx-workshop/ and https://geraintluff.github.io/jsfx/ for some great JSFX tools. And all of it is for free.
AWW shucks you'll make me blush lol
yeah i remember you saying when i joined here a few yrs back i had never even heard of trap music, thanks again for the great comment and listen they are much appreciated :)
I liked how the music and vocals blended. Your creations are so rich in instrumentation.
I don't know English either (I regret not having learned it) and I always have to translate everything with Google, haha. I downloaded your song, separated the vocals, and transcribed them with Audacity. Then I translated it into Greek, which I assume is what you wanted.
Here it is in both English and Greek.
Best regards.
I first you be, have I ever?
With simple size nasty skies,
Crying grey skies lonely, silent cries
I was not the time when you've got to stay
I see in your eyes Beijing days not today
But it makes you crazy, your silence is pain
Your smile is so broken front, your body chain
I first you be, but surely, but surely
I first you be, but I'm not wanting to go
I see the show, I'll stay and show, by and out alone
But it makes you better, I'll find you today
But it makes you smile, you'll look at it your way
I try to be angry, close me to all you get
When you left me, fast to death
Smile, we would be friends, I love you, baby, I love you, baby
You are the epitome of kindness and goodness my friend!!! I am grateful to you !!!! Thank you so much !!! I know English but I can't understand singing English ( I had the acapella and I still could not understand the words....) I am glad you like the song juankar ! My Best Regards !!!!
A moving story, narrated and sung in an incredible way. Everything togetherthe music, the voicestirs you deeply when you listen to it. It's no wonder it's so successful; it deserves it. And unfortunately, we live in a world where if someone dies tragically, it becomes an individual tragedy and receives a lot of media attention. But when thousands of innocent people lose their lives, we almost normalize it. As a society, we don't realize the tragedy of each of those deaths, especially when it's often due to the decisions of those who are never exposed to losing their lives. It's a shame that this world is getting worse and worse; there's less and less humanity in people. The only glimmer of hope is when you read about or meet people through these media, miles away, on the other side of the world, who think like you, who value life, who respect others. I hope there are more and more of us.
Congratulations on the song and its success.
Best regards, Juan Carlos.
Hello Juan,
how right you are. As long as suffering doesnt happen in our own surroundings, we tend to acknowledge it only from a distance , it doesnt truly reach us. Here in Germany, we recently had a whale that got lost in the Baltic Sea and tragically stranded on a sandbank. There were several rescue attempts, all unsuccessful so far. The media coverage about this poor whale has been extremely intense, pushing far more serious events out of the news.
What does the whale have that the victims in Lebanon, Iran, Israel, Ukraine do not?
What makes the whale capable of distracting from political events in the world and in Germany, from unhinged presidents, famines, wars, economic chaos, and more?
Perhaps its because life is so comfortable for us that we can no longer imagine real suffering and maybe we dont want to. In the end, we all put ourselves first. I cant always exclude myself from that either. We simply escape into the hope that none of this will ever affect us. Hopefully.
Thank you so much for your kind words
Great song! The sound is crystal clear, the rhythm is good, and Odarka voice, which I realize is always a recipe for success, is fantastic. Congratulations!
