Yeh the way everything comes together especially with the good perc work is very nice. All the sounds are clear and distinct. Your work on the perc and synth shows. Like that vocal sample too. Nice build up and release there. Dig that. Hey you're pretty good at this shi. Keep it up.

Hey mate, thanks for the review and the great comments - I appreciate it. Now got another track up which is a bit of a pumping acid house tune.

That happened to me today even. I know exactly what you mean. Nice synth work going on here. Hmmmm... is this all you in FL? Really really cool. Maybe the synth that comes in could be leveled out a bit so the volume on it isn't so hectic. Other than that yeh love it.

Yeah, for the most part it was me. I mean I have and use loop and sound packages like Vengeance Essential. I stick with minor things from those tho like drums, effects, vocals, etc.. I try to custom make as much as possible, but when you hear that one sound that you KNOW is perfect, you have to use it! :P I also used a few VSTs like Nexus, Z3ta+ and Sytrus, but even with those I try to tweak and modify the sound so it's me. Thank you for the feedback!

:) thanks for your question , i guess is more about the feeling they you have in the time that you looking for idea for a new track , this track in one of the first track that i did ever and i did it in 3 days ,for example i have maybe 15 more tracks that i have the basic idea but i didnt finsh them yet some of them are 2 month old, and i just dont have the inspiration and the right feeling to finsh them , i think is because of the summer time, so i guess that is all about the feeling :)

Hey this is nice. It does have a sense of sadness. but it's also pretty good too cuz it is giving me ideas, so it's got that inspire someone else's mind thing going on, which is always good. It's like each sequence stops just 1/8th short, so your mind produces the last 1/8th, which IMO the best music does. Nice job.

on Junai by ToxicVoltage
Yeh this opens beautifully. One of those openings that you hear and know that this is what this kind of music is supposed to sound like. Ambient, atmospheric and wonderful. To be honest, I'd like to hear the beat that comes in without the higher synth that comes in attached to it, if that makes sense. Doesn't sound too distorted to me. Sounds good. Maybe it's been fixed?
ToxicVoltage

This gave e alot of ideas with your review
:D
I actually fixed the distortion, so the track should sound perfect now

Really like what you did with the repeating notes in the piano and the percussion.

Well I like it has me moving - good work on the percussion. It might need some sort of bass to go with, I think that might fill it in.

on Brave New World by SSA88
This starts very smooth. So far it is keeping smooth, which is allowing all these slight nuances to come through, which is good. Could maybe use a strong kick or bass in there. Like what the bass is doing in there l8r. My hunch is that adding something around the bottom frequencies might fill it out more.

Wow I love the way you've combined the upper synth's hip hop, the orchestra strings and deeper bass plucks. Really nice. I think it could use more panning so the instruments are farther apart, and/or a slightly thinner sounding orchestra strings instrument. But who knows, if I tried that on this, I can't say that this version might not be better. It just seems like it wants to be clean. Er.
Cristal
Cristal replied Unknown
Thnx for the info. I never really messed with the panning so imma c what happens wit that thnx a bunches :)

Hmm... sounds too good man. The raps are SSSIck. The music is great. Exactly the kinda rap that should be on the air these days. Great job on the synths, especially liked those.

on JSA by Ozcorps
I think it would help the listenability of this if the vocals had some sort of processing run on them to remove some of the upper frequencies, the "air" sounds. If the vocals were at the right frequencies, this would be GREAT. The rapping is really good, the music is good. It's only a matter of frequency levels. Absolutely worth the fix. Good job so far.

on For nice people (demo) by DJVO
Very nice opening, a little much on the high frequencies, but beautiful. Wow good job. This is one of the best intro build-ins that I've heard on this site. Excellent beat and synth playing against each other. NICE changes on the synths. Really good, this is exactly how trance should feel to hear. Great job.

thx for the comment, for the intro i found it too that the hi-freq make it distort but with all the automation clip lol it make it hard to do but i'll work on it

That's dark as shi. Loved the fade in ... this is excellent!! The way the siren pans is awesome. Just straight out this makes me feel like I've been stabbed in an alley, and it rains while I die. And the cops are too late. ;)

Very intense, yet not aggravating b/c of the melody. Nice work.

on Angels V.S Devils by Dj_ATA
Nice bass in there, really nice!! Love it, it's distinct. It really brings the beat to the level. Can't wait to see where this goes ... Very nice instrumental break in the middle. You really know how to create atmosphere, with wonderful melodies. And the build back in was quick but sufficient, could have built a bit better - but I like it. It's apparent you put some effort into the sounds in the higher frequency range, and with your skills with melody, it really works well. An 'open sky filled with life' of a song. The feeling in this song is about how I feel all the time, so it doesn't sound "sad" to me. Sounds like life man. Great work.

and about the kind of melodies i dont know man maybe i did this melodies when i was in sad and it's coming in kind of happy !? But hey !! this's your decision [ Life ] ,And i'm so happy that you like it ,thank you very much Califken for the nice reveiw =)

on Lament by Tiltedbeats
Wow this IS amazing. I read some of your forum posts a few weeks back about spacing out the frequencies and what parametric equalizer 2 was for. So I actually thanked you in one of my track descrips. I wish I had checked your music then, as this is indeed the finest track I've heard on this site to date. Such nice work. In creating this everything flowed out? It sounds so universal, like anybody in any country could understand what this means. Love it. Great work.

Is this FL?

Tiltedbeats replied Unknown
ahhhh yes, mastering a tune is icing on the cake lol :P im glad i could help... your comments are very flattering, i really appreciate it mate :)

yep, i made this tune in one night. i was up by myself and something personal was on my mind, so i sat down and started a strings melody. from there i added other pads delayed sounds, violin etc. it was really special.

oh, and yep, it was made in FL Studio. i only have FL 5, so everything i make is made in there :)

thanks once again!!!!

on Powered! by lostprophet0016
This is tight. Nice job with the rhythm changes on the guitars. I think it's a powerful, driving and moving track. For the solos, you should gradually increase a key from each chord or riff higher and higher, then go back and reshape those using the same feats you did to do the rhythms. Based on this, I think you'd be the best candidate to do those solos.

on Shorty Play Checkers With Me full version by dirtydishrag
Hey man I like this! Great job. The vocal needs a slight bit of limiting or compression. But great echoes on it, good job on the harmonies with the girl. I love what you're singing. After the part about playing checkers, the vocals don't come back, that might be nice if you brought them back in. Honestly I'm surprised you don't have more reviews on this, I thought it was an excellent track that does need but is definitely worthy of some improvement. Good job.

Thank you for the review, my wife and I would like to do more with this one. We're very amateur and still trying to figure this stuff out. I enjoy listening to a lot of the tracks on here, but I've been a little bit lazy. Time to start reviewing some tracks.

on Gimme Love by RadioGuevara
I like intro, there's something a little bit off about it that it doesn't quite jibe. Actually after the chick sings, it starts to seem like it's a little better but still something is weird about the way they are matched and I can't tell what it is. Maybe it's where the vocal is against the track. Everytime the girl sings, and the rap comes back it sounds good again, but then it soon seems off again.

I noticed the same thing, I have to fix it a little. It's one of my first tracks. In the first part of the rap is offset a little point about the music. Thanks for your advice!

Yeh I love what I have read of Asimov, and that definitely peaked my interest in both your track and his story. So right now as I am listening to it, I am really visualizing and fully interpreting what you are expressing in the track, and then I will check the story out and follow-up. Great job though b/c I can really pull a lot from it just listening to it. A lot of feeling, sense of space and place, function, drama and time. Nice job. Isn't it wonderful as art moves through one form to another?
