Word,...I can dig it. I dont know what software you are using to make tracks but with the cutting thing you should try and set the poloyphony to 1 and set the cut itself to 0 or --. Thats how I do it in FL anyway and it give a super clean cut. Sounds like you got it pretty clean now though just a millisecond of pause.
