No, you are correct. I had heard this melody before but have altered it just slightly to create more elaborate pads with. I will cite correctly through the description.
Very well done dance piece. It really makes you move, regardless of whether you want to or not. This is the type of music I love. It feels sort of like early Tiesto. Keep up the great work.
You mods make all the best tracks. That driving synth bass sounds great through the whole thing without getting repetitive. I've never been able to pull that off and I'm extremely jealous. Btw, what did you write it in?
Hi JHolmes
Thankyou for reviewing my track.
This track is made with loopmasters samples I think the bass was from their Quantic house cd. I then used Ableton Live to arrange the loops.
Thanks Again

That was fantastic. I really like the builds into the classic square synth sounds. The running scales with the slide at the end that echo back slightly add an interesting feel to the track. It makes me think of Sonic the Hedgehog, for some reason...
There's something that feels a tiny bit off in the beginning with your drums, I noticed around ~0:27. You have a sort of drop on the upbeat where you hit a bit before the major down beat. It feels like it's being used too often and takes away from the main dance boom-tiss-boom-tiss rythm. I feel like you should move that bass hit back a half step every other time it comes up, if that makes any sense?
[EDIT: at the 16 bars ending at 0:22, try switching your 15th measure drum beats with your 16th. I think that's what I meant.]
Oh. I can say maybe my mault but maybe u just not used as there is much dumber rhythms images usually.
I learned that changing drums can be very cool from jazz and some good IDM composers.
Oh I can't edit anything here. I was in very bad mood and formated my hard drive. It was like few months ago.
[EDIT] - I also should say I can't feel pleaseure listening this track anymore cuz I did listen it 100 times. LOL :-D
[ADIT 2] - Ah yes - thank you man for the fav download and resonable critic.
I remember how much I want to get into dubstep every time I hear a track. I love the phat bass.
As for the sample, I think you might be able to argue it under fair use since it's "educational" in purpose and not for profit, but from what I recall, samples are very hard to claim fair use on due to the deliberate nature of sampling. [N.B. I am only a lawyer when I'm sitting in my favorite armchair.]
This song is gorgeous from the beginning onward. The delay on the guitar is surprisingly natural. I like the tap tap tap you put in; it's a very unusual sound that fits quite well.
The lull in the middle of the song without much but the guitar seems a little bit empty without the sort of ambient filler noise and voices that come in at ~3:30 in your build, but... I guess that's why it's a build. The ending, where it goes back to the tapping, is perfect.
Your drop at ~1:50 could use some sort of effects or maybe something really high pitched that warbles around to keep it interesting. It sounds more like an outro then a lull in the song.
Good song, I like the sound. I think it's house, but the phat bass confuses me. I can't do the genres either. I just call it all "techno."
I really like the full sound. The section around 1:40 where you cut to just the melody and drums seems a bit empty and could use some, I don't know, reverb on the drum channel? The drum hits are a bit too strong there for the quiet feel for those first 8-16 bars.
Also, insomniac compositions are the best. Nice work.
Cheers for the input buddy. Ill try and apply some reverb on the drums in the quiet bit when I get a chance.
Will also sort the drums. ive got a habit of playing everything to loudly.... heh heh heh.
hey yeah i just sampled waves and seagulls...i think the waves need taking down in the mix slightly to be honest...need to export it and post it again. Are you wanting the samples of the ocean and seagulls? or the full song for download?
I would like to hear some variance in your accompaniment during the chorus so there's a distinct verse/chorus structure to the music as well as the lyrics. The lyrics sound great and I really like the overall sound of your rapping. Very well done.
Could you expand a bit on what you do with the panning? Is it mostly shifting the phase and pingponging samples?
Sorry, I hate to be a bother. I can't fathom how drums work. If it weren't for taking apart drum loops and slowly moving hits/adding hits/screwing with filters, my rhythm would sound absolutely awful.
thank for the review and the time listening, about the dedication this song i've done for my old aunt and she hate elecronic she only like classical music!

I like the pulsing whistle (or whatever that is) that keeps bouncing throughout the song. Drums are very synthy, I'd rather have a sliced drum loop, but that's just me.
I like the plucked bassline, it makes the track swing. The lead that comes in at ~1:30 is great.
I'm not a huge fan of the drums you chose; it feels a bit bass hit heavy, but they feel small. You might want to fatten them up a bit, and could try putting a light delay/reverb on the rhythm channel; I've found it can make synth drums sound a bit more natural.

Finally found it. It's called C-Sharp by The Quest. I have a mix by OS/2 with that song on it. I literally went through my entire library to find it.

What did you sample for the ocean waves/seagulls ambient noise? It fits the song quite well, and is very well balanced.
Also, any chance you'll put it up for download?
