I'm really liking the concept of ambient glitch. It seems to have a very unique flow. When I read the description, I didn't know what to expect. It's good!
You certainly have a way of creating a life-like prescence in your stuff. The use of water in music works! Adds a natural beauty to it. It does remind of the ebb and flow of life. Evolving....at times chaotic, at other times still and calm. Very nice track!
Thank you. It's a tricky thing, the merging of non-musical sounds into a musical piece but worth the attempt. I think it's the 4th track I've done now trying this blend, and I learn something new every time. The song itself lends itself to the sounds of water because of elements (esp. cymbals) that are already creating these themes. Glad you enjoyed it!
I like what you've done with this! Starts off very eerie, and then moves into melodic chaos. The beat at times seems to drift away out of sync every so often. But, it still manages to stay together in some way. Very different. Decent vibe though!
This is straight up, serious blues. Reminds me of old Trower or Gary Moore. Great guitar work on here. The subtlety of the harmonica is a very nice touch, but It could almost be brought up a tad. Slap Johnson's sax is stellar, as usual.
What an amazing arrangement! I can just see the frogs collectively grooving to this. The loops flow nicely within this piece. I have used the water splash rythum once before in an older piece I did. The way you are using is much better and definitely retains meaning. I love the way it builds, grooves on and then gently fades out into nature. Absolutely brilliant work here, Nomad!
Thanks Apocalynium! It's funny how this one came together, and you'd think I'd have learned by now about consciously playing with Trickster archetypes. Still, the result is quite pleasing.
Every time I hear this track, and hear the way it continues to evolve, it grows ever more mezmerizing. I love the title. I can almost visualize this clash of spiritual entities and natural forces. Like some god like battle between the forces of nature and human kind. Very surrealistic, and hypnotic amongst all the chaos. Just listening to the style, I can see we work along the same lines of creativity. Keep doing this stuff. The world needs this kind of sound exploration!
Thanks for faving it! This is the ultimate form of compliment to me. The bonobo for me is very metaphorical and thought provoking as it appears we're closer cousins than with the common chimp. The cultural difference between these two groups is truly profound, and like the Dutch anthropologist I wish we'd discovered the bonobo first. The image of a bonobo shaking a branch at an electrical storm in defiance is what this is all about. Something about simian defiance against gigantic natural forces to me reveals why we're spiritual or religious by nature. I think it's why you and I are creating these kinds of sonic explorations. Mysteries with capital 'M'.
