Hi Glenn,
If I ever have a bout of acute anxiety, I'll listen to this track before I reach for the medicine cabinet... You're a very relaxed soul, aren't you. I like the chord progressions you chose... this could go on and on... until sunrise. Thanks!
Cheers,
Micky
Hello Micky, I really appreciate your comments and time to listen to my track....it means a lot. The music we create can do so much....keep up your good work as well my friend.
Hi TrippleN97, a really impressive track. It's crazy what the hi-hat does in some places. Vocals and soundtrack complement each other perfectly. Very nice work...big compliment.
Cheers,
Micky
Hi BeatMaker4real, it might not be your usual type of beat, but it sounds just as professional as what we're used to from you. Dark and mysterious. Great beat... I'm sure the wordsmiths will jump on it...
Cheers,
Micky
Hi zipbass, no idea how you do something like that. Probably work work work. Those horns sound so professional and the vocals are perfect, as is everything else. Great track.
Cheers,
Micky
Hey Sal, that's a really nice track, well produced. I particularly like the floating guitars. And that condensation trail at the end... great.
Cheers,
Micky
Hi Micky,,,, Thanks for review and boost. lol... the vocalist cords are unique and was sweating bullets hitting it right. I used a vocoder plugin and chose three cords harmonizing with vocals. it helped set the stage big time...
Ill get to hearing your work very soon.... TTYL, Sal
Hi, how are you? That's another great piece from you. You're one of the few people here who somehow sounds live, with a certain magic. I think your incredibly beautiful surroundings have an influence on that, could that be? I can't make any of the comparisons mentioned below... your sound is unique to me. But you also know that I'm not an expert on LoFi and the like. It's great that you're here!
Cheers,
Micky
Hi Micky, thanks as always my friend. Not sure how/why my music always sounds live. Could be due to my very sloppy guitar and keys - nothing is ever smack on the grid unless I put it there lol. But I think you're right in some ways, I'm sure environment plays some part in the sonic choices we make. But there's also a lot of influences for me in the realm of dub and ambient music that somehow seems to get through whatever I'm doing. Cheers Chris.
This is pure relaxation. I find it particularly pleasant that you don't start racing across the fretboard at high speed. That shows musical sovereignty. Once again, a very successful track.
Hello Micky, thank you my friend for checking out my track and commenting....it's very much appreciated. Sometimes less is better if the right note or notes are expressive enough....imagination is key for me.....please keep up your great work as well.....it's all necessary.
Hello Oli, the track seemed cinematic to me from the start... like a soundtrack. Super contrasting sounds that keep the tension constant. Somehow it seems unfinished, but somehow not... difficult to decide. In any case, a pleasant listen.
Cheers,
Micky
thanks a lot Micky for taking the time to listen to this track and to share your comments. The track is not fully polished but if you found it pleasant that's just enough for me.
I think that composing something so freely is a real art, especially since it really has its own spirit. It's hard to believe that the pieces don't actually belong together... Huge compliment!!!
Have you ever tried singing yourself? There are some here who were once convinced that they weren't good enough to sing. But then they tried it and tested it out here and now it's working great. What do you think?
this is like a lesson... or at least it should be. Very organically composed, orchestrated and mixed. I also like the structure... it's stages or chapters. You are a real artist and it's uplifting to listen to the track.
Best regards,
Micky
Thank you Micky, it is a very encouraging comment and I really appreciate all your good intention. This is uplifting too you know.
Wish you well
Anthony
Hi Chris, for some reason your track reminded me of the band CAN, which was around here and in Germany in the 1970s. Maybe you know them. In any case, this is a really nice, relaxed track. The vocals fit perfectly.
All the best and lots of inspiration,
Micky
Hi Micky, how are things? Yeah man, been a Can fan for years. Future Days and Ege Bamyasi are favs. So I like the reference! Thanks for listening as always. Chris.
Oh man,
truth spoken, truth sung...greatly presented.
The instrumental is perfect too...long time no hearing from Hughey on here. Wonder how he's doing.
I don't know if the track has gone through some changes since then, but it sounds great to me. At first I found it hard to get through because the structure seems really complicated. But it comes with time. Great, unique track!
Thanks Micky - only the reverb has been tweaked - yeah I agree the form seems hard to fathom at first but it does seem to come together with time - I appreciated you taking the time and will be sure to listen and comment on your latest asap
As for the volume and so on ... that's technical stuff. But musically ... GREAT. You have a good idea of economy. And of course a lot of feeling, which comes across clearly.
Cheers,
Micky
Hello Micky, appreciate your comments and listening to this track...I took a chance in uploading this track.....I knew it was somewhat out of normal parameters but did it anyway, you never stop learning dos and donts.....again I appreciate you.
Hi Alex,
that sounds great and I could imagine seeing it performed live in a huge hall. Personally, I think the dominance of the bass here is perfect. However, for my taste, it could be longer... much longer. In any case: great work!
Best regards,
Micky
Ohhh Mosestone... there's a lot of magic in there. Excellent compilation of extraordinary sounds, yes, the whole thing is extraordinary... the perfect example that there is infinite space beyond the usual....
Cheers,
Micky
superb track with a lot of power. I wish I had played that guitar... at that exact tempo LOL. No really, very nice atmosphere... hopefully someone can put their rhymes on it appropriately.
Cheers,
Micky
Hey Krotan, that's an impressive track. You seem to be the king of "dry" synths. I mean, there's no reverb or anything, although I suspect you do create spaces. It sounds fantastic. And I say that as someone who can never get enough reverb and echo. It's wonderful how everything builds up little by little... a whole world has formed in my mind's eye. Very nice work!
Cheers,
Micky
Thank you, Micky. Yes, I rarely apply filters on synths. It seems to me in this case the "spatial" sound is lost. Thank you so much for the review and attention to my work.
That's powerful. Great rhyming with great timing. I especially like how soft the bass is here, it fits perfectly with the ostinato piano. Very nice work.
Cheers,
Micky
Hi Anthony, if you've just had a really bad phase (like I had) with fears for loved ones, and so close to the holidays, then your track is a real blessing! But it is anyway...Thank you very much for this calming, comforting atmosphere.
All the best,
Cheers
Thank you Micky
