Great track!
Quite atmospheric.

my goal and intention was to make the beat sound like it was recorded in a BIG church or cathedral.. with the angel choirs close to the ceiling and the church being lit up by rays of light coming through the stained-glass colored windows.

Hey Gixxie, I think thats a really great guitar part. Nice and spacey. Kind of Eddie Hazel-esque, too. Youre approaching it with the right mindset... Hats off to you!
Cheers,

Brother, listen - everyone RAVES about my brother's guitar pieces, and rightfully so. He uses an old Washburn he bought off some hoodlums awhile back for $35. He also has a custom Dean Dime in Flame colorway and body. Hasn't picked it up in at least a year. The moral is sometimes we get something that is old or seemingly obsolete and get something unique out of it despite that - giving the music u make with it character. It's easy to hear the unique character your guitar brought to this one man

Gixxie replied 27th Jun 2026 - 4 days ago
Yeah I've heard some of the metal guitars on some of your tracks, that sounded super pro and polished :)

That's dope when your guitar has the customized colors on the body.. I saw a video about a guy that dipped his whole guitar in a big bucket of paint and when he pulled it out the guitar body had all vibrant colors on it.. I would pay good money for a custom design like that lol

Great for an Old Blade Runner film - great sound - personally we would add one or two more variations but a v good quality track
Gixxie
Gixxie replied 16th Jun 2026 - 2 weeks ago
Everyone thinks this belongs in a movie but i have a completely different inner view/imagery of the sounds in this track, interesting... I've never seen the old Blade Runner movie but now you got me curious. And yes i agree.. more variation would make this track more interesting, but I haven't had any new ideas for this project in at least a year, it's kind of stuck the way it is now.

Thanks for the listen and the feedback Kayos2

You have captured so much movement in this - a truly lovely song
Gixxie
Gixxie replied 14th Jun 2026 - 2 weeks ago
I didnt know what i was doing back then, it's only after creation that we try to understand what we've created but in the moment when you create there is only movement.

...and the crazy thing is that these are the same drum/synth/choir loops every 16 bars, super minimalistic, but it sounds deep and complicated.

Technically i just played with the filter freq/res on the mixer channel master track, i kind of accidentally did an "arrangement" that brought out different facets of the synth and choir sounds.

It's like looking at a painting from different sides/angles in different lighting, don't know how to explain it precisely.

I love how the choir and the synth blended well together, it's like they became one... but yeah the real secret sauce is the filter/res automation on the mixer master track.

Hey man, I like this piece. I will say this much - my brother is Pnnywze. His way of looking at things has rubbed off on the rest of us, especially me, so I know my advice is close to what his would be. Throughout the course of your life as a music creator, u must understand that your tastes and style will change, just as other aspects of yourself will. In doing so, your experience stays with you. Thats how you evolve. Sometimes that evolution brings us full circle back to where we started, only with alot more experience and a better understanding of what direction you should go. I find that thinking in this way allows me to think of my past experiences as well as where Im at now in a more positive light, not just with music but in all things. In your case, its awesome that you've decided to take your musical direction back to where u want it to be. Just dont forget to apply what you've learned doing other things to your current projects. I hope all that makes sense

Gixxie replied 14th Jun 2026 - 2 weeks ago
I'm confused now... Pnnywze is your real biological brother or just brother figuratively speaking? - in any case thanks for the listen and the comment!

In my case, i have different musical identities/genres, people assume that my main genre is hiphop but actually I'm more of a movie soundtrack/experimentalist producer, im always looking to create new sounds in genres that are not mainstream.

Throughout the years as i gained more music experience/theoretical knowledge my music started to sound too polished and structured, like i am trying to be perfect at the cost of the vibe itself kinda.. that's more what i mean when I said I want to go back to the beginning. You are right.. applying what i know now to my old projects is only going to make it better and it has. Just musically i sometimes feel I'm trying to be too much like someone else and all i need to be is me and that's enough is basically what I'm tryna say.

on Track 06 - Its Never Ok by Gixxie
For me, I felt a lot of emotion in this track. You have had your fill of ne'er do wells, time-wasters, liberty takers, all take, no give. You're detached yet you are submerged so deep, only the intuitive can feel it how it really is. You worked really hard - I can feel that at times, you have just felt fed up to your back teeth of being messed with. The icing on the cake would be a few lyrics with a melodic rap but this is excellent as a standalone piece. Keep going ;)

Kavos2... my friend, thank you for your comment!

I think this track is good as a stand-alone instrumental, i have no idea where i would add vocals that's why I haven't recorded anything yet over this, there is no room for vocals on this track but maybe someone else has ideas..

I have always had this idea of a music video for this track where a person is sitting in the back of a car looking out the window and it's raining.. don't know why but that has always stuck wit me in my head.

Thanks again for the listen and constructive jnput, i appreciate it.

I didn't realize you were from Rotterdam...are you familiar with Rita? She's also from Rotterdam, and I honestly consider her a close friend of mine. We met 5 years ago here on LM, I became a fan when I first heard her, and now all this time later, I've worked with her 12 times (all with The Monzder Squadd) and every song is fire, man. Most of those are up on The Monzder Squadd page. Anyway, I sent you something extra in that email, lmk when u get it. Now, its ironic u ask about the band I was in, right now most of our discography is MISSING MEDIA and Dano, who was our singer, is offering a decent reward to anyone who still has any of our CDs or Show Singles we released back in 2004 and 2005. Every group member, myself included, lost everything we had in the 20 years since, except Dano, who still had some of our songs on a hard drive, thankfully. Ill send you a couple songs.

Hahah yep, I live in Rotterdam but I'm not originally from here though. RitaRita is indeed also from here, I even think she lives nearby where i live lol but we've never really collabed or anything; I don't think we connect in that way, but it is a funny coincidence though... or maybe not, the city i live in produces a lot of artists for some reason.

I know quite alot about music theory, but that is mostly due to my background as a musician - Ive played guitar for over 20 years, and piano very near that. When I started learning how to play songs, my brain started to connect alot of dots, even before I ever approached memorizing chords. And thats something a guitarist never forgets. Any decent guitar player will tell u that u will never forget those initial chords once u learn em - Amin, Emin, E Major, Cmin, Dmin, Gmin, F sharp and B major are the ones I'll never ever forget, no matter how long its been since I picked up a guitar. Until last December, I hadn't really played much guitar in close to 10 years. I was once the rhythm guitarist and composer for a Nu Metal band called Dissencion that was mildly successful from around 2003 to 2010, so incorporating that type of music and energy into what Im doing now, especially with The Monzder Squadd, has been the most fun and rewarding music Ive done in a long time. Anyway, Idk why I gave u an impromptu Pnnywze History lesson, but I will say that Ive been thinking hard about ways that I can help other producers, and Im also trying to get my sound design company off the ground, so Im looking at creating a website. It's going to take awhile, though. In the meantime, I'll be creating some tutorials and beat creation step-by-steps soon. And Ive got some loops uploaded here that I created specifically for Looperman, if u want to check those out. I'll email u the chart I made for relative keys, as well
Gixxie
Gixxie replied 11th Jun 2026 - 2 weeks ago
Thanks for the history lesson haha... I didn't know u had that kind of background but it puts everything into perspective now. Mastering the guitar is really hard, respect man... guitarists ahould be treayed like royalty in my opinion, it takes so much practice to master it, people don't realize this.

When you do a live guitar solo over a beat it makes the beat sound expensive and classy, it's like a track isn't finished if there is no guitar on it haha..

I bought my first electric guitar last year, a Squire stratocaster but haven't really played it much due to being too busy.

I'll check out some of ur loops but I'm more interested in that Nu Metal band u used to play in amd how it sounded

Man im still making tracks out of phrases and melodies I recorded on a Sony digital recorder 13 or 14 years ago. Make sure to always take time to plant those seeds. Guitar I put together for a band a lifetime ago has a proven extremely useful. Im glad you kept this around and finished it. Its well done, and its also a personal milestone for u
Gixxie
Gixxie replied 11th Jun 2026 - 2 weeks ago
It's strange how your mind knew back then when you created the sketches that they were worth saving/recording! In the long run it pays off.

Are you strong in music theory or do you do everything by ear??

Yeah for me it's BIG milestone in production, song arrangement, mixing and engineering; almost the whole process, except music theory I need to learn more about scales and chords.

Great track.
Gixxie
Gixxie replied 11th Jun 2026 - 2 weeks ago
Thanks for the comment and for the listen, happy to hear you recognize it for what it is... it is a great track definitely, but the only thing i need to change/add is a good guitar solo and fix some wrongly timed notes and that's it. If i really wanted to be a perfectionist, I'd probably work some more on the drum arrangement.

But yeah at one point you just need to stop tweaking the track constantly and just be happy with what you got otherwise it becomes an eternal ongoing project I guess.

On another note, i think for most people there is too much melancholy in this type of track, it grows on you and not everybody likes that feeling but i might be wrong and maybe others hear something else in the track.
