very cool track man. I like the chilled proggy intro gradually building into the overdriven guitar part then waving back into the scape of dreaminess. a journey of sonic loveliness my friend, great work.
I hear that all the time. I take it as a compliment. You might like some of my other tracks as well. They are primarily electric music though. Thank you.
I would say that, overall, this track is too simple to be math rock. It's 4/4 and I didn't use scales outside of DM. There are pieces that might be considered math rock but it wasn't my intent. I do listen to bands that could be considered math rock though, like Battles and King Crimson, so it's very possible the influence is there. Thank you.
Great track to chill out on, would recommend making the kick less, clicky though, it seems a bit distracting and out of place. Nice progression throughout the track, with some solid leads and guitar lines. Good work :D
All guitar tracks are played by me using a Fender Stratocaster. I played the guitar over drum patterns (or to a metronome) and added layers in multiple takes. The piano and pad that are played later in the song are vst's.
What a nice and warm crispy intro...a real moodstarter. The progression is seamless and the distortion on the guitar somehow fits very well with the rest of the track(which is oddly satisfying). Nice piece of music you made here.
Thank you. Distortion doesn't always have to be thrashy. If you'd like to hear smooth distortion, a lot of Pink Floyd's music has great solos. There aren't many guitarists as smooth as David Gilmour.
