granted the mix is rough, but it's so fresh I hardly noticed

2-It sounds great!
This is an amazing track. From the piano, to the electric guitar, it's awesome. And I loved how the claps and bass didn't even come in til' later in the song.

I tend to have the same problem, but I do occasionally remember to switch off the distortion...although it's always tempting to switch it straight back on 'cos I'm always sure whatever I've come up with would sound better with some chunky chuggin' behind it! But I managed to resist this time!
Indeed, it does have a break-y/filler vibe (mainly due to length I'd say). Possibly something of a palate cleanser.
