Hello monkwee, this is definitely footstompin guitar for me....a nice steady beat along with the guitars keeping pace make for a nice piece of music....good guitar playing
bro this is a cool piece of work, great to here you having a go with vocals too, is this the new you :)) if you need any tips just hit me up you have a good style and i like to listen to you, keep put the graft in monkwee it all pays off eventually
Really good! And how nice to find another soul who finds joy in making the solo journey.
Regarding the mix, that's something I also still suck at, but I've learned a lot from my fellow loopies here. My first comment would be to make your vocals "pop" more. Meaning, give them a more prominent place in your mix.
I've followed various strategies but these days after I recorded everything when I start working on the mix, I first mute everything and work on the vocals - compression, reverb, delay (re-record) until I'm sort of ok with them. Then I start adding drums, bass and other instruments until I'm happy, and then correct anything that sticks out.
Hi there. Been missing that classic Monkwee sound and vibe. Cool track again, lovely guitars as always and I like the muted low-,key vox. I don't remember hearing you sing on previous tracks? I'd look at the eq on the vocal maybe roll off a bit of low end? Maybe. All the best, Chris.
hello and much thanks zooty ol' buddy ol' pal, you're right i mostly did instrumentals but decided to give it a go lol. Awesome i will try to figure out how to do that!
Lofi indie chill - I love it - like those plinky guitar lines weaving in and out (reminds me of the go-betweens), the bass offering some counterpoint and the drums do the job well, yeah the production sounds kind of minimal but it fits the style of the track well and I like the vocal - ends a little abrupt but thats just a invitation to play it again hey
thank you for the kind words i truly appreciate it and im checking out your tracks now your stuff is awesome! very imaginative and atmosphere inducing, cool shit nice to meet you!
this is very cool man! feel like u might be too close to the mic. theres also loads of mixing tutorials on youtube for pretty much any genre. maybe look at a shoegaze/indie rock one for vocals? all the best
Nice work on the track monkwee...I like the way you're using the vocal part as a low tone instrument to add some character to the beat...not so much to be heard, but to be felt.
Love that Bass - it creates so much emotion - a lonely guy in a One Horse Town in remote America, having a brief stopover before travelling across country to start a new ife
