Lovely sounds man. I recognise the Roland, I have something similar although right now it's broken and catching dust.
Some nice references to a lot of funky 70s songs :)
Thank you BaoBou for your comment! I am just working on the mix which is quite annoying to me as I am not a technical person in this respect and do a little bit of new arrangement. I still have an old Korg Vocooder which needs to be repaired as well as an MS 10. I think its worth it those god old analoge machines are awesome.Great that you recognized my influence from back in the days :).
The bass is fire - kudos from a fellow bass player. Well, that's not true I guess - I own and play my bass - you make funky love to it.
Excellent stuff man. Hit me up if you would ever be up for a collab!
Rick! Good gosh - this is fire! What I like the most is that the whole thing grooves like hell on just those few snare hits that serve as a beat.
High regards,
Michael
WOW! just listen to that guitar playing! and yes! love hearing my fave instrument on any track (The Sax)AMAZINGLY! done and well put together. Funky fresh! indeed. Kudos!
Wie gehts FunkRick,
I love everything about this track except...
The Bass needs more bottom. At first I thought one of my headphone channels went out.
I think if the Bass had a wider deeper presence this would be an unstoppable hit
in my opinion.
Great track.
Yeah... It's a Funky tune! @ 3:10 it really got real.
I almost never listen to a whole track. I've enjoyed this track several times today.
BTW...Are you too young to remember Gino Vannelli(Mama Coco)or Tower of Power (What is hip) anything Sly Stone? Oh yeah, Graham central station.
If you get a chance youtube it. Ton of ideas.
Thank you Jynxz, appreciate your comment. I am not too young grew up with them in the late 70s and 80s all of them do still inspire me. Really got into Return to Forever and Herbie etc too. Cheers Rick
Thank you BaoBao, I do consider your comment. It is still a draft and the female Vox isn't perfectly in tune (but the phrases fit so well) I do not have the technical capacity to tune it (melodyne?). However once it is done I will update the track. In terms of the loops I am not a keyboard player nor a good guitar player so I probably have to drop some notes in middi. Chers Ricke
I like, nice and friendly track, and you guys clearly had fun, which is always good.
I think you can bring it to the next level by working on the mix; the drums need to go back a little, and certainly the voice needs to pop more. I'm not a mixer or producer, but check on the forums, maybe someone can help, or find a local friend who can help.
Good luck!!
WOW! i love the beat of this, your *FUNK* tracks are something to listen to, very nice! work here indeed, that guitar playing is off the chain! on another level. A TOP! track of an enjoyable listening experience. EXCELLENT! Work from start to finish! Kudos!
WOWWW! to my ears this is the bees knees! i love the raw live! sound of this kinda reminds me when i use to go to my live sessions and hear the brass instruments, there is nothing more real! than hearing all those instruments played live and this track gave me that burst of excitement. The whole production was SUPERB! to listen to, the only thing i would suggest is bringing the vocals a little more slightly to the forefront but on the whole, this was something special to hear. Keep up the GREAT! Work and it's a fave from me, so enjoyed hearing this.
Thank you very much for your comment - truly appreciated. I was listening to your tracks and have to say that I found them great too. Keep up the great work and keeping' da funk alive. Rick
