I like these vocals. I think I'd keep working with her. This can be a strong alt-country crossover track with this unique production and choice of sounds.
Very good, mate. I wonder if you slow it down just a small bit you will develop a better groove and feel. Sort of like Alannah Myles Black velvet tempo. I really like it though well thought out, good lyrics.

I thought you said you were you had the pink colored ponies remix? Anyways I work on two or three tracks at a time and I was like aw he beat me to it lol so I was all excited to hear yours right now let me know
hi CC !! yes I work on "pink ponies", but a lot of mixing imperfections and not quite a "square" tempo wastes a lot of time, I'll post it tomorrow if I'm brave without "taking too much head" with a medium vocal mix !! not very professional from the person who made the vocal mix! there are 2.3 connections on the piece (0.45 ... 2.15 ...) I'll do with it!

I really enjoyed this track, from beginning to the very nicely done ending! I assume you played all the instruments on the backing track, based on what you mentioned in your profile here on LM.
Since you are a pro, I'm very hesitant to offer and substantive comments on the mix, but I'm going to give you my reaction anyway.
First, the instrumental backing was great. Really well done and balance in the mix was excellent.
Second, I wondered why you had set the volume of the lead vocal so low in the mix, but I saw from a comment you made (above) that there were issues in the vocal track you were given, so you did that on purpose. I thought the vocalist was really interesting (really nice character in her voice, especially when she didn't push it). But, there were clearly a lot of pitch issues throughout. Some precision work with Autotune or (my preference) Melodyne would have helped fix some of those problems. But, that takes a lot of work (at least it does for me because I'm not very proficient with those programs) and costs more $. I'd say that you definitely made the right decision not to set the vocal higher in the mix, given what you had to work with.
But, that said, it was a really engaging track and it kept my interest from start to finish.
hi! you're completely right about Lauren's voice, but I have very little time to do the songs and catch up with the "pitch" with an autotune would have given me a lot of work and honestly I leave the autotune for the rappers, this is not my method of correcting imperfections..no I think she should have singed just 1 tone or 1/2 tone below, and that would have solved the problem !!
thank you wholeheartedly for your analysis!

Michel this is stellar, an instant fave. Music is superb, and I think the vocal sits well in the mix. I would love to pick your brains to get an awesome drum sound like yours. You are a true talent raising the bar high, great great job.
Cool track, the singing reminds me a bit of the band Roxette. I like the drums popping out in the mix, impactful. I think the vox could come up a smidge but the idea is solid and catchy.
You're right about the power of Lauren's voice, but there are 2 "snags" on her recording which forced me to lower her track a bit to avoid being noticed too much !! with more time (and courage) I could have done it, but hey it's a draft and at the price I am paid, it's already not so bad (smile)!
