Alternative and different - definately a mixture of chip 32 and house/glitch. Some novel ideas with regards to melody and bass hooks and all-in-all quite an unorthodox structure. b.t.w. I really like those filtered pads after 4:30 and that yelling sample is kinda funny too. Maybe needs a bit more work to get you uber attention but what I hear is quite interesting to listen to. Keep the work up! Greetz, --Davey--
Thanks man! Yes i really dont know how this one came together. a mix of the weirdest things i have done. The structure needs some work for sure. Not really sure what yet, but ill keep dabbling with it. cheers again!
Thanks Man. thats some good feedback! Not my rhymes - the words of grotesk. Im not exactly happy with the fit of the rhymes - was the first thing i did and wasnt exactly sure on how to do it. One day i will go back and sort it out!!.
I like the track - i think that it would benefit from a bit of tweaking on the levels and some sounds are'nt as clear as they could be. I think that you paced the track well though and it compliments the preach. Nice.
I think the vocals could do with pitching up yeah - the recording wasnt that great but im sure if i could figure it out i would be able to make them a bit clearer. Cheers for the review.
awe, this brought back such fond memories of my SP loving teenage days...and the sort of darkness that bassline and your accents are bringing to the table really make this apt as a nostalgic piece for me [...cause a lot of those teenage days were pretty dark lol].
like it. great job!
Thanks Duke! i loved them too and still do!
This was one of the first things i ever made, and it amuses me that its got so many reviews and listens, considering i didnt know what i was doing!
mellow groove dude, well laid and it flows. the vocal sample is what guides it through. good work dude.
could u send me the vocal sample u used for this track? the one in the beginning when the track starts off, and the "take it" part. im getting a few ideas where i can put this vocal sample to use. let me know.
Thanks. Appreciate that! This was the first thing i had ever made with FL and seems to have tickled a few fancies. Bit of a fluke and not sure what i want to do with it now, but thanks for your love!
im likin this a lot,its a good message aswel, aimed right @ me,i do stay up late as f*** workin tho, haha,
those strings just grip u man,as u say beat n bass is simple, rightly done on tis 1,nice pace aswell, mal
Yo man this is pretty sick. That guitar samples you cut does have some click, but you cover it up pretty well when the beat drops. I like the bass changes and whatnot in here too. They keep it fresh.
I'm really diggin the beats on this one, stands out as being quite different from the usual hip hop. Nice lyrics, I like how audible they are. I don't think the scratching is overdone, sounds just right to me. Not what I usually listen to but I think I'll have to fave and DL this one! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Spiv. Was hoping it would be a bit different from the usual type of hip hop - bit of a weird sample so i think that helped with the vibe. Again thanks for a great review - although i think you say everything is good!!
Guy this is bad ass trip hop song!!!! This one goes to my iPod... It is nice!!!!!!!! Sounds like something Massive Attack has done... Keep up the work man, you got some good stuff!!!
Might wanna work on that sudden ending just a tad (maybe like- sudden end and silence for about 1 or 2 seconds for smooth change-overs on an album and such). And I dug the computerized vocal sample of "Today", but am thinkin that ya might wanna smooth it out just a smidge to blend in with the mix better (kinda stands out {and outta place} at the moment, a filter or 2 might help there).
Beyond that, I loved how ya did a cover of that one rock song (though my mind isn't working with me today, was it the Red Hot Chilli Peppers... wait, nevermind, wasn't it from a Smashing Pumpkins song?). And overall, there was a cool blend of different styles going on here. Kinda makes me think of what it might sound like if New Order and Weezer got together for a collab or something. Keep crankin 'em out mate. Later on!
cheers for this. sudden ending is because its very much unfinished. really surprised how many reviews this is getting though. was meant to be just a throw away bit of fun, the first thing i really did with fruityloops. im actually thinking of making it a bit of a dubstep groove, which should fill it out a bit.
i will definitely look at doing a proper full length mix of it.

The sample is actually from here - its a real speech recording though so the quality is not amazing.

Its made up of a few samples - the beats and bass are made on fruity loops in the piano roll.
If you want some rap over - check watermark like this ft grotesk.
