Had to listen to another before I head off for a bit....and I'm glad I did. Great instrumental, and I can imagine the track with vocals will be even better.
I think John was right when he said this one has cinematic elements in it as well as metal.....
for a new song idea I do believe you are very creative and original. I like the poppiness of the drums but most of all you play a mean guitar. you listen to a lot of slipknot? What I really like about this is your ability to make everything flow nicely together. The drums are mapped out to match your guitar rythm flawlessly. unlike most drums which are just a 4/4 measure looped all the way through a song, yours has change ups. Like that. The guitar riffs well A+ for creativity. I like how you thought out your transitions. i can tell you put some time into this.
I dont want to get too critical so i will wait for a finished song out of this idea you have.
Thanks man, I actually don't listen to a ton of slipknot these days, I used to though. I actually program all of my drums using Superior Drummer which allows me to make all of my patterns with simple midi sequencing, easier and a lot of times more convenient than micing a drumkit. This song is actually all in 4/4, but I tried to throw in some changes/subdivisions (ie the chorus riff with the straight 4/4 cymbal over the dotted rhythm on the kick and snare)...Hopefully I'll have this song done soon man :)
The track definitely kicks, my friend, glad to see more metal oriented artists like yourself coming on the loop. I look forward to a lot more from you.
Duuuuuuude! I love it. I'm looking into getting the program you used for drums. I really like it. Your mix is off by just a tiny bit, but that's the only thing really wrong with it :)
thanks dude, I'm actually using my crappy epiphone explorer through my pod xt live, the bass will come after all of the guitars and drums are finished ;D
You have some great tones and riffs, but the rythmguitars are abit low. And see if you can find Addictive Drums anywhere, EZDrummer sounds abit.. plain and.. well, not good. I really loved the drumpattern though. Seems like you put some effort into that. I like it. Sound- and riff-wise it sounds like Killswitch Engage at the beginning, and the leads sounds abit like Avenged Sevenfold. Me likey. Keep it up :)
This is really good. Again, I love the breakdown.I suggest toning down the synth just a tiny bit because it's a bit distracting in the beginning. At 1:27 and 1:55 it sounds a bit like too quick of a jump betwwen genres. Otherwise i'd say 9/10!!
hmmm...lets see, I use cubase 5 for all of my recording and mastering. For drums I use EZ Drummer with the DFH expansion, for guitars I use my Line 6 Toneport UX2 running through Pod Farm on my PC (I bought the metal shop expansion on pod farm because the factory amps kind of suck), and that's all on this track. For tracks that have synth I use all kinds of various plugins though haha
This track rocks! Love the guitar harmonies. Although it doesn't sound as if music production/Mastering is your strongest point (yet), you're creativity and guitar playing are wicked! Good track
Excellent piece of metal. Very well constructed. Love the guitar work esp around 1:15. The orchestration was quite the interesting surprise. The changeup to piano was also well done. An overall kicka$$ piece of work.
Hey man this is truly excellent. Great usage of your external metal sounds (things other than guitar, drums, and bass, like your synth and such) it sounded really nice. Great beat, the synths fit in really nicely. Great job and keep up the good work. -Gabe
haha. thanks a lot my man, I actually recorded this a long time ago and my guitar tone is a lot better nowadays.....unfortunately because of synth most of my songs are over 7mb....I had been listening to Born of Osiris before I did that middle part and I thought the major switch might sound cool :p
Guitars sound good together. Do you play all instruments in this? Has a clever ending. Synths sound good too. I would put them all throughout the song. Nice work!
Thanks man, maybe it would be cool with synth parts throughout, but, anyways, I didn't do the drums, I downloaded a few parts from here on Looperman (under the metal drum loops section) and some I made on Beatcraft.
