I'm a biggole scaredy cat so I don't like horror, but this is pure genius for a horror movie, soundtrack, all that!
The build that leads to all that horrific slicing and dicing and killing and blood that gets my blood boiling and gets me on the edge of my seat, the suspense is too much! I think I stopped breathing as I typed that sentence, geez!
Funny thing about my creative process is that I don't initially think of one thing. Each sound, instrument, or loop I use is like a different color on a pallet, so not until I am done do I get a full picture. Each time I listen to a bit it becomes more intense and clear to me what my sub conscience is playing out. Thanks for listening!
Thanks! I am really trying to grow into this genre, it requires much more imagination than anything else I have tried. Your feedback and support is appreciated.
oh man, this is really good. i can imagine some kind of excitement going on. movie never made...but when it is, this will be perfect for it! good work.
Nice little cinematic bit. The sound quality on some of the samples seems kind of low. For instance when that background bass hits without any instruments playing it sounds like it has a reduced bit rate distortion applied. I point this out because I wonder if you were going for more of a tribal drum for that part. I also wonder how "natural" you want to make this sound because parts of it sound good and organic, whereas others sound totally artificial (As in synths and audio editors being used).
0:10 - It sounds like the horn or whatever that is is sampled and there's some popping when it changes notes. Musically it sounds good, but the popping takes you out of the music.
0:24 - 1:10 - This section sounds great. Loving that folky guitary-sounding instrument. After the guitar cuts out, it sounds like the reverbed bass drum has some bit rate distortion on it. Don't know if that's intentional.
1:23 - seems like the bird call sound needs a little more reverb added, but that's being nit picky.
2:00 - Sweet thunder =)
2:07 - the primary reverse sound is cool, but I think it should be used more sparingly as a background sound effect. It sounds eerie in moderation, but it's annoying over the vocal. I think you should just have eerie sound effects going behind the vocal and remove that sound altogether. The other reversed sound effects also sound like they have bit rate distortion on them.
All in all though, it gets the point across and it's pretty cool. What software and sample banks are you using just out of curiosity?
thanx for the review, mate...brutal truth is always welcome here at camp abec...i agree with you on some aspects, so i may repost the track with somme of your suggesstions, but then again i may not...i used FL 9, magix, and abelton live 7.0 to create this bit...thanx again for the review
hell yeh cool experiment. so someone is getting shot kinda far away, desolate day in teh city outskirts, industrial. bleak. things aren't too great. there's bad things going on just out of site, back there in those buildings, over by that underpass. there could even be something kinda evil going on, or it might just be night time instead. there's definitely a darkness growing. wow. war. this situation is just getting worse and worse. the war is catching up with me fast, and it seems it will soon surround me. pretty scary sh man. actually has my adrenaline going, so THERE YA GO!!! YOU DID A GREAT JOB, and the music did what it should have done. when the music starts gettin pretty crazy, i don't think i should go on what that is painting in my head as fascinating as it might be, it will probably not be very useful. GREAT WORK BRO. keep it up.
Thanx mate!appreciate the review! My ultimate idea is a concept album.Dig this:soundtrack to a movie never made. Collection of songs that carry same ideaas this.Hard pill to swallow? yes. For everyone? no. Commercial appeal? probably not. But who cares...I would like to know what you think though.
