on the off chance that i decided to listen to a hip hop track, i was rewarded. hehe, this is crazy man, the things behind the scratching are a bit repetitive but its a pretty cool sound. from the sounds your getting i can tell youd be a good glitcher if you care at all for the genre.

from an outsider to the genre- CT

Glad to see openmindedness. That's one of the most fun parts of this sorta thing, I feel! I appreciate your taking the time to review as well. Very kind. I have, actually started to gain some interest in some glitchy, ('that a word?lol)sounds lately for possibly the same reason you brought it up. hum, you got me thinkin now... :) Hey, thanks again Cybertooth :) (ps. i'll have to drop in with your's as an outsider, too.)

God I love scratching, and I LOVE the old school hiphop. I have a track that needs some spicing up... If I sent it to you would you wanna see if you were maybe interested in laying down some scratching/sampling? No pressure, just let me know if you wanna check it out.

Me too. It's a crying shame that it's lost some airplay. I'd be glad to help, if you'd like. Send me something you wanted work on and we can go from there. Contact me anytime. :) Thanks.

oh hell yea! im diggin it dude. needs some eq on it tho, really loud. good job on the 1s and 2s, its becoming a lost art. and do you use actual turntables or those new fancy cd/mp3 ones? love the voice samples too. really good song.

djquickrick replied Unknown
Is it? my bad if so. I didn't have time to burn a copy on my way out the door. I had to do it quietly here at the Senior Center on headphones, sonny. I DO actually use real live TurnTables with Vinyl records. I also, (but not for this one) use Torq timecoded vinyl and software while djing.or whatever they use, too. I do plan on touching things up on it. If u'd like, I can send U a 320kb quality copy. Humbly appreciate your review. :)

This more my pace. From the get go, the drums. Deep pumping but they don't cause drop out and everything come through sick. Don't know if its side chained but it's something I gotta learn(5 years and I still try to avoid low subby kicks lol). Vocals fit like a glove. Builds up and you just know its about to go off lol. Also the bass and kick seem to play of each other really good. Deep groove! Synths add the icing. I always avoid house tracks but I'm starting to think I've been f'in up lol. Cheers :D

djquickrick replied Unknown
Thanks for the review and I'm glad I was able to bring you over to "this side of the HOUSE." :) I did and always side chain the drums if they are at all heavy and/or a primary part of the song. I find I avoid the dreaded muddiness or as I call it drowning. Depending on brands, House and Industrial can be similar. Actually, at some bar/clubz I've spun the two 2gether with a side of new order, Nitzer Ebb, and front 242, acid. oooo -what a tasty time that is. I'm sweatin just thinkin about it. Who knows, maybe some MCHN too!!
THANKS FOR THE FAV MY FRIEND..peace

Man this is great. Really awesome dual harmonies. I like depressing s**t. Life can't always be sunshine and rainbows you know lol. At least not without chemicals of some sort. Without darkness I wouldn't have much to look forward too lol. Back to the track, it's great. Yea Piano has some of the best piano sounds here(no pun intended). I also like the vocals kinda offset like that. With the technology at our hands everything gets so quantized and pitch corrected and put into form etc... Kinda leaves out the raw emotion of music. It's good to hear a change. Cheers :D
djquickrick
djquickrick replied Unknown
Hey thanks alot man. Yeah, without the vocals, it could have a possibility to be a normal and maybe pretty good hip hop song. But I was going for the offset vocal thing at the time. That's because at that time, I WAS feeling offset. ;) Thanks for listening, understanding, AND reviewing. I just noticed the FAV. That's real cool, thanks again.:)

Okay, this is simply awesome. Great collection of sounds masterfully put together to create a definite piece of art. Love it. A good set of vocals would finish this off like icing on a cake.

Great work

Now that put a smile on my face!... I'd love to have someone do some vocals too. Wish I knew someone who could do that specifically for this song. (hint hint people reading this)lol

Excellent track. Great use of the acapella. You backed it up perfectly. Really dig your choice of drums. Great transitions.

A Great piece of ear candy.

"Sweeeet." It took me forever to pick those drums. Once I did, it was a lot of fun dropping and adding certain drums with the echo of the voice as a main element of how the song was to be built. Thank you for checking it out and reviewing!

Def a unique style you got going on here. I like the way it progresses rapidly. the spoken word fits well. Great beats man. And the reverb and compression dance together creating waves, as she says. Very nice composition my friend.

Great mastering too!

Cheers!

djquickrick replied Unknown
Thank you sir. I get that particular style from growing up here in Chicago, listening and djing House Music back in the 80's through 90's. Still do, but that era seems to shine through alot with me. :) >>> You had mentioned the mastering. I sincerely thank you for that because I feel I'm truly struggling with keeping quality with songs. Thanks again and catch ya later!

The beginning was a bit abrupt, maybe a little fade in would be nice, but everything after that was sweet. Vocals, lyrics, instrumentation and transitions are all well done.

I look forward to hearing more great tracks from you,
