Oh my god, the same thing has happened two my thwice in the lasy three weeks, its been about 4 since I started trying to make music. And I've ;pst my files so many times it feels like so my heart breaks for your track my friend : ( but you'll figure something out hopefully, and hopefully it all works out for you. It does suck so much though ; /
I'm so impressed. the only thing I could recommend in my very humble opinion is it is too long of the same thing like in the middle it would get to the average listener a bit too "boring" although I stuck with it until the end because I was a fan. Maybe with vocals that will change but I'm very excited to hear a final version (as final as music can ever be). I imagined myself driving around listening to this and was like "yeah that would be fantastic". So congrats on a great great song, I mean it.
Wow, awesome thanks for the feedback! I lleft the wide open spaces to give some room for lyrics to be dropped in; unfortunately my studio computer just crashed and I can't get her to come back up so the Cubase files may be gone and this is what I'm stuck with :-/ Going to take it up to a shop today to get it looked at though. Any way thanks for the kid words, I really appreciate it!
you play mean DRUMS dude...I too shall work on a tune with moonslayers vocals...I did a track using one of Elaine's poems and will do sum sum with Moon's vocals.
keep going Tee...never stop!
Hey this is cool as f**k!you sound a bit like chris cornell, jack black and paul weller all together!!im gonna get the album if its available?i have become speechless whilst hearing this!so so cool.
Hey thanks! Again I can't take credit for the vocals (I was the drummer and engineer), but I will pass on your thoughts to our singer so as to further boost his ego =) Thanks so much for the support! Without people like you, local bands couldn't survive.
Well, thanks for the compliment. So everyone knows, the album is now available for purchase on iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, Napster, Amie Street, etc. Check it out if you liked the songs!!!
I like this ,the guitar sounds sweet, likin' the vocals, the tune brings to mind , 'Cmon baby light my fire' by Hose Feliciano.Great tune just a slight flaw, the lyrics could be added to I think. An all round great tune,
I'd love to hear this on the radio. Your vocals are excellent, and I'm a sucker for acoustic. I also love when a song changes - the rocking part is hot. The vocal effect you use at times (a low fidelity type) really drives it home.
Ha! I saw the reply saying that this has an Alice in Chains vibe. Mabey in the begining. Actually I was thinking(in the begining) this did have that feel. After listening to it more the guitar reminds me of Pearl Jam actually the whole track is Pearl Jam-ish. Which is a great accomplishment/ compliment! Great work! I might do tracks other than rock/alternative but im still in LOVE with 90's rock! Great job! If you ever want to collab on some rock stuff let me know! I can play the hell out of some guitar!!!!
Yeah, that is one hell of a compliment! I'm actually the drummer and engineer on all these tracks so I can't take credit for the bass or guitar. I DEFINITELY cannot take credit for the vox. Our singer is a really talented guy IMHO. Yeah if you have anything you want to lay some drums on, send it on I would love to collab something with ya!
Awesome, thanks for the compliments. When I joined the band, Alice in Chains was their model for the project so I guess we stayed with the original plan! Thanks again
Pumped up man, I really like your voice. I haven't looked yet, but I hope you have more songs uploaded. Do you do all the writing? or with a band? Great tune. I agree on the high's, I kinda thing the low end sounds a bit muddy (I'd be interested to see what people with more mixing experience have to say about it and if they have input as well. I'm trying to figure out something similar). I hope you're not getting the feeling I'm going on your songs and saying the sound sucks. I'm not. I just like the songs and would love to hear more individual detail in the instruments!
Well, im glad that you guys were honest about the EQ...I agree and its always IMPERATIVE to get another ear on your recordings during mixdown/mastering. Unfortunately for me I lost the hard drive with the masters and accidentally formatted the backup master when I built my new rig :( yes, I'm a dumba$$. But we were lucky enough to cut the CD and I can still remaster it a bit from that. Look for the entire CD on iTunes, amazon, rhapsody and a few others in April (it takes forever to get a track approved on those sites) under "Sets of Failure". It has already been uploaded, so no tweaking the EQ on these LOL. Thanks again for all of your input; that's what makes this site so awesome!
I like the groove of this song. I feel like there is detail in each instrument that I'm missing out on. Your voice comes through well (you have a strong meaty voice), I do feel like there could be some more separation between the different instruments. I can't offer a suggestion on that I'm afraid, but I hope this is helpful in some way. I'm still trying to make whats in my head come out the speaker, and it's tough.
Great Song, rock on.
Thanks again, I wanted to give this a lazy feel, so that may be why you cant discern between instruments, I may have overdone it a little. Its just such a laid back tune that I wanted it a little lazy. Its far and away my favorite song so far, but I'm a little biased. Maybe a midrange exciter would pull them up a little. I'll give 'er a shot!
ya highs too much, did you EQ the master tracks? try that bring the highs down there. I'm listening through headphones lightweight and great sounding(KossUR-15C)if you can find this brand "they're good". anyway good luck keep doing what your doing sounds great..........
Hey thanks for the input man, I love feedback. You think the highs are too much, is that why you were saying to boost mids? Listening to it on my laptops clanky speaks it sunds way too heavy on the highs, and I have been trying to get this to sound decent on EVERY player I listen to it on...any way, thanks a million for the review, that's exactly what I'm looking for!
Thanks man! That was what I was getting at...so many talented people on here, hopefully someone will give me an idea or better yet, download and send me some vox to throw on it! haha. I kept trying to write to it last night and ended up with a mish-mash of every hair band I have ever listened to...that would NOT have been good. Thanks for the feedback, though, I really appreciate it!
