when i opened the track it almost blew my earphones out, but once i got the volume turned down i realized this track was supposed to be played around 3am on a pair of speaker stacks about four meters tall and on a beach on an island somewhere in thailand. i dig. how you get the vocals?
Hahaha, that's good! Not that many people use that expression these days. Twas very Shakespearian of you.
Cool vocal sample there. And this only took you three hours? Not bad, not bad at all. That kinda reminds me of a similar track title by GameboiX which is equally as cool. Anyways, I'm diggin everything 'cept for the crowd cheers, but I just had an idea... The way they kinda sound is like high velocity wind blowing by an entrance during a fierce storm or something. Maybe if ya tweeked 'em a little with effects and then cropped 'em you'd get just that. And that'd kinda help, what with the song's title and all. Making it sound like some sorta hellish nightmare or something (or ascending to Heaven, either way).
Anywho, I'm again diggin the keys. And the basic drums really fit this. Solid banger here. Lates!
You know what's crazy, Aerith actually does a pretty good job impersonating a 'Wailer' (what the Muslims to do singing prayers are called).
F***in killer synths mate! They kinda remind me of a cross between Kraftwerk and Eiffel 65 or someone like that. The crowd cheers is a bit much though. Other than that it's a great track. Lates!
Hey man. First off very nice track. It has great sounds and the percs sound awsome. Synths are sweet too, and really good melodies sey the whole thing off to a tee!
Now the bad news....This track really needs a drivin bassline to move it along. I was listenin to it thinkin, "what is the matter here?" And when I listened to the mix i noticed NO bassline cookin the track...That is a key factor in trance man. You need a great bassline drivin the song along with the kick. I hear it soooo many times on looper and it really frustrates me. You are a great artiste and you should know better, but dont take this as a big criticism coz it aint...The rest of what u have done is fab! But concentrate on gettin that groove first...then worry about the synths and stuff!
You are gettin better with every track man, and I hope you don't take this the wrong way! Peace!
Man i Dont Think i Know The Meaning Of a "big" Project, But This Definetly Has Some Great Pontential, I Think for it to be more Anthem/Like it has to have a much longer buildup till the drop, And That synth is Begging You to Morph it as the song progresses, I also Think i hear Nexus in There... I dunno Though, Otherwise The song is great, Side Chaining Was Great, When That Drop Hits With The Piano part, I think id use a different Synth, one of those Super Fat Hypersaws or something. Tune was Great, Production had some serious Potential. Great Track, Keep it up, (ending was truncated i assume, The end is rather abrubt)
well im currently working on the end, and no its not nexus, its just some sound dreated whit sytrus, i would like to hear what it sound whit the super fat hypersaw
BTW thanks for reviewing
nice! i like the "bittersweet" harmony you have going i might whip something up with this but i think it works great on its own or a lead to another song =]
dude for 5 hours this is amazing! thats being said im sure you know that you need to go over it and refine it. im about to post a track so im hoping you can take a look at it.
yea all my song was like 140bpm and the vocal was 138 and i was too lasy to reduse the bpm of my track 8 so i've tried to make a kind of "fit" by choping it but nothing special was did
thanks for the post
LE made some good points...But nothin wrong with VEC samples tho...its all in the mix of the song. All you need on your claps and hats is a little reverb and take a little off the high freq on the eq!! In fact, I would find a different clap sample..dont think think the one you've used really fits the song..but hey, its just one tune....just move onto the next one...sometimes you just have to leave somethin behind and get the next one started!! Nice work man!
Ok, well you are changing my mind in regards to the power of FL (if that is what you used). I was unaware that is was capable of songs such as this. This song sounds to me as if I should be hearing it on a dream dance cd... Very nicely done. Its rare that another unsigned musician can so accurately remind me of my past as this song has.
I dont really listen to the rap stuff much since The Chronic 2001, due to the lack of originality. This track speaks to me tho. I love the backing track, and the orchestral web being spun. The rap tho sounds a little too much like Eminem for my taste. And back to originality. A beatiful song tho. The breaks all fall in a great place, and the recouperation is artfully contructed. A+++
