Just love it when a track comes together like that. One loop/sample that writes out the rest, it's the best!
The track reminds me of those old cartoons (like Skooby Doo) where they'd walk by or be comin up on the creepy dark house. The one's that always seem to have guilded iron fences and thunder clouds spitting lightning out above 'em. Where the ghost silently floats/tip toes behind the good guys. Just waitin to pull a prank on 'em of for them to turn around to scare the bejezus out of 'em. Great track for story tellin. Like havin an MC go-
You don't wanna be/where I be
And to have seen/the things I see.
... And so on. Good gravy mate. Lates!
It's the Pirates of 8th st., haha. Makes ya wonder, if that lifestyle existed back then would people have tricked out their carriages and buggys? What would rims have looked like back then... And I can only imagine how the Horses would be decked out.
Anyways, I think this is a brilliant concept. Very beautiful blend of styles. Throw in some funky space soundin effects and this'd move into bein a really bangin Trip-hop track. As for the score part, it does have some Disney elements to it, but the metal bangin at the end remined me of somethin else. Somethin from the Robocop series maybe? Maybe not, but it's very close. Kind of a contemporary hero decision-gate climax scene. I'm barely getting the visual, but the memory of it is there. It'll come to me later. Sweet mix mate. Later on!
Where you get your samples? This joint is pretty hot, nice and simple. Be sure to check out my tracks sometime. This could also work for some good ambience too.
I just ripp old tracks/orchetral style sounding tracks of the net, then cut them up to sound completly diffrent from the original! I have to search through alot of shit to find some good!!
nice work, im a big fan of any mafia-esque stuff and the beat was pretty damn good, if you can email me this Id like to do a white guy mafia style track to it, dolawhite@aol.com
