for presonus studio one there's a very good and free saturator. limiter : best i found is the t-racks cs package, i use that for mastering, hardware emu-s in its best. lo-fi : extreme eq lowpass and highpass filtering to make it sound not hi-fi. highpass up to 7-800Hz , lowpass 3-5khz,then boost it, it gives a nice retro feel and sound. i use ableton live, very quick workflow. i use reaper or studio one for mastering. i dont use any other plugins just the built in ones in live.

nice one MrRuggles. i think the hardest part with these acapellas sometimes that they are off the grid so i chop them many places, rearrange the parts, sometimes i use elastic-audio strecthing so it fits on the gridline.once it is on the gridline i can speed it up or down, usually up. for drums, i usually layer 2-3 drumloops.good to have a huge collection with thousands of drumloops at ur fingertips. audioz.info is a good start to find useful stuff. i also mix lo-fi many times, so the main parts stand out better. almost on every track i use highpass filter but the bass instruments. my secret : saturator plugins, beefs up everything. eq/saturation/comp/limiter
