on an old style guitar melody by urbanmusic01
You should consider copyrighting some of these sounds and releasing them as a sample pack. I'm sure there's plenty of people on here looking for stuff like that. Just a thought!

Where is Paul Wall when you need him? Sorry to draw a comparison, but I love how you're able to build the same emotions as he does. I don't know the word for it, but you nailed it with the throwback, dirty vibes

In a word, ethereal. The outro is a perfect resolution to the song too, it just fits. Really couldn't have used a better vocal too. Nice job brotha

on KayOS - Adhd by Kayos2
Is all of this origninal? I'll give the same props either way but this flows like absolute butter. The bass is super subtle but strong enough to add some color. Nice work.

Instrumentation decisions come from he who is my producer 'God', (Oli)! He knows what's what for effect. It was a bit of a mare finding a tune, so we did go on a voyage of discovery for that. Lyrics are 100 per cent mine - always are ;) Thank you so much for listening to us

on I would by K1Clean
I will always have respect for anything done in one take. I get that its one clip, but it def sounds like you rehearsed it a lot it sound really good. Well done

Wrote it in about 15minutes. Might of resaid it writing it like 5x or so. At the core I'm a improv freestyler/battler before I started writing. I can legit improve full songs, like 1 out of 50 maybe(single takes). If I had an audio engineer to punch me, I'd do it constantly.
Like how I flipped my opening bars into a hook at end, thats all improv off my own writing on the fly. But done in same recording.
Appreciate you bro

on Mister Mister Who by K1Clean
You need to see if you can't find an old studio mic from the 90's or add a vintage plugin. Your voice and flow sticks like glue to these west-coast vibes. Excellent work

Thats where my style originates from. So its always comfy to do. The irony in your comment is, I've been rapping since 1994 lol. Hell use to battle rap at house of blues open mic nights in Vegas 1998-2002. Grew up in Cali.
When the mood hits, i still like to mess around. Still have a Shure mic from late 90s/early 00's, but I can't really understand what you mean. I think you mean to clean up my vocals better. My current mic is much better, my current vocal chain is much better. This was recorded on cooledit96. I now use ableton.
I appreciate the words.

Latin style pop is the best way to go if you want to please the masses. This sounds like a great showcase of your vocals - how would I go about getting some raw samples?

on Love Games by fidiu
I think the track is phenomenal by itself. If you want it to sound more like your standard slap house, remove all background synths except for the slap bass. Add big room reverb (only a little) and make a simple but not repetitive drum loop. If it sounds too empty, consider adding sporadic vocal chops or pitch-bending some 808's to fill the quiet parts. Not trying to act like a know-it-all, that's just my 2 cents

on Gladiator - Pnnywze ft RitaJustRita and Infamous by Pnnywze
What do you use to make your 808's? I've just been using serum but I feel like that makes it WAY more complicated than it needs to be
Pnnywze
Pnnywze replied 23rd Jan 2025 - 1 year ago
Definitely dont use serum man, save that for constructing your melodies. I've been using the same set of 808s for years, just distorted and manipulated in different ways. 808 wav samples either in the sampler or sometimes directwave (and plenty of ways to edit or add effects like edison, slicex, but I use mostly 3rd party software), sometimes with sausage fattener, sometimes soundgoodizer. It can get complicated but that's part of the fun for me. I always utilize serum for melodic elements, serum percussions don't really hold up well on their own, anyway. To me, very few vsts at all have good drums out of the box.

Hi 500cc, it shouldn't be that far from house. I grew up with the whole Chicago House catalog and am a real fan, so it's quite possible that some of that always comes through. Thanks for your comment, very glad you like it.
Cheers,
Micky

on Spag Heddy Style Dubstep Track - UNMASTERED by pjc908
Did you design all those basses in serum? if so then hats off, I still struggle with the sound design portion of the genre. Fantastic flow to the drop - felt full and engaging the entire way through. I might consider expanding on the into a bit and adding some background pads but other than that I think its perfect. Then again, I'm no professional
pjc908
pjc908 replied 22nd Nov 2024 - 1 year ago
Hey man, thanks very much for the feedback and kind words. Yes most of it was sound designed in Serum. The main lead bass was off a Virtual Riot preset that I mucked around with the get the sound I wanted. Mostly had Spag Heddy in mind when making the intro. I like the simplistic approach he took in a lot of his older stuff for the intro but I think a pad might be a good idea for sure. Thanks again!
