I lived with Tascam 8 track decks for years & wore out the outside heads I used them so much...it makes an honest musician of the user...nowhere to hide...just the music...I noticed the acoustic was nicely recorded but your vocal is the star T.A...good for you....a big well done to you...enjoyed this one...Ed
Thank you TW. It was difficult to get the takes right at first, but as soon as I relaxed and learned to love the soft hiss of the tape deck, I really enjoyed the experience. Also, I'm relieved that you liked the vocals, I always feel nervous about showcasing my voice. Though I'm starting to use it more and more lately.
Folk isnt really my drug of choice but this was an awesome listen, was perfect to just chill out to at nearly 2am in the morning.
I dont think im really qualified to give any advice on how to improve this due to my lack of knowledge on the genre but all in all its a great listen :)
Thank you Xyllent. I don't think genre matters so much as long as the music doesn't grate against your mood. Thankfully you were in the right mood for this track, so all is good :D
All any of us can ever ask is that our music paint an audio picture for the listener, to take them where we want them to go. You did that and did it really, really well. I wanted a lot more of this one, but I can always hit the "play" button again, haha.
Seriously, brilliant work. I think you have a real shot at winning this competition. Well done TA. I hope all is well.
Yeah, it seems to be the consensus that the track should've been longer. I think I made a fair trade-off with the door opening and closing, because you can just hit reply and ride the haunted house all over again. YAY!
Thank you for your wonderful praise. I'm really glad that you enjoyed the track.
Does Erik know you were playing with his organ? I bet you wore his mask too! YaaaYY!! I smell lasagna cooking :D Cool house on this underground lake, under the operahouse Erik's got here. I see why he hid and boobie trapped it. Going be a haunting good time! Is there a secret exit into the catacombes?
Erik got drunk and is in the opera house, swinging of the chandeliers. So I've had the place all to myself. Trying to find my way out of the catacombs and I'm running dangerously low on lasagna... If I don't return, please punch Raoul in the face for me. His foppish crooning is bumming everyone out.
I agree that it is a bit too short. But I wanted the track to be quality and my time has become very limited, so I think it's a fair trade off. However, I will expand it when I have a free afternoon in my possession.
Thanks for listening and commenting. It always boosts morale.
Oh good, I was hoping you would comment. Your drum loops are awesome! I had some really rubbish programmed drums and then I found the two I used and the whole song came together. So a big thank-you to you sir! :)
I love the creepy whispers toward the end. Your vocals elevate the whole thing into something special. I like your idea of expanding this into a longer track; I think it would lend itself well to a more expanded treatment.
Thank You CD. I really loved doing the vocals. If no one else, I think it freaked my housemates out! I will expand the track, but I need to mull over what direction to take it in.
Wow, great atmosphere!
Not horribly scary, but still enjoyable.
21 seconds to about 33 seconds reminds me a lot of a couple modern psych-pop groups. I would definitely try to expand on that style of music if I were you, you're really good at it.
Yeah, I was more going for a Phantom of the Opera style thrill ride, rather than all out scary.
I was thinking about expanding the song into a longer track with more vocals and some guitar work. But it may have to wait as I'm working on 3 other tracks atm. Still trying to find my signature style at the moment. So I'll definitely keep your comment in mind.
Thanks for the feedback. I 'm glad you liked the track.
Funnily enough, I have been compared to Kiedis before. I don't see it myself, but I do love covering Otherside and Universally Speaking. So maybe that has impacted my vocal style. Either way, it's quite a compliment. So thank you :)
I like this one toasted av and your voice sounds really good...fits the music backing perfectly...very nice chord prog (and that always grabs my attention)...instruments are nicely placed...just seems everything about it fits well...great job..Ed
I feel as your voice, and way you record yourself, you're like a male "Lana Del Rey" Hey man keep it up. Look up some mastering and balance techniques and try to showcase your work, I'm sure you'll get attention
hey there toasted Av
really enjoyed the flow to this vox sound great in my opinion

Thank you for the feedback. I always find it difficult to work with my own vocals, it always sounds off to me. The strings were the last part that I added just to "lift" the track. Glad you like it :)
I'm glad that it worked for you. I was a little worried about it myself. I haven't really worked with dubstep sounds before, so I'm relieved to hear that it didn't alienate you.
