When was putting the track together I also thought it had a bit of an old feel to it, which is why I had the idea of putting the old vinyl record crackle over it.

There are quite a few sounds and instruments on here that I have pushed back in the mix almost to the point where you can't hear them. But when I then mute those parts individually, the song seems to lose something.

And all of this inspired by Tara's lovely vocals.

Funny, I have recently been teaching myself to play the piano part to "Video Games". Tara's voice does have a lovely graininess to it, a bit like Lana Del Ray.

One of the nicest compliments I have had to this track was walking into the kitchen and hearing my daughter singing the chorusy bit "Never leave, never leave....".

The only thing is she has misheard the lyrics and was singing "Natalie, Natalie..." but at least it has got into her head.

Hi JJ. Yeah I like this track. I enjoyed putting it together. It was another one of those where the music and the sounds found themselves around your vocals so easily. I was listening to it after completing it and my son put his round the door and said it was the only track I've done that he could imagine hearing on the radio. That was quite a nice compliment from him.

I've been away quite a bit over the last 2 months so haven't had a lot of time to listen to all the good stuff on Looperman - I need to catch up.

I really appreciate your kind comments you give me for the music I put round all your acapellas.

I always try and pick out the emotion and sentiment in your vocals and try to create music to bring that out.

As I said to BrillBilly my music can at times be a bit mushy compared to some real good stuff that I listen to on Looperman but I am enjoying creating it.

One thing I don't seem to be able to do is make hardcore music. Smooth and dreamy, yeah I like smooth and dreamy.

I play bits of my tracks to my wife and kids and all I get is a disinterested "Yeah that's nice - you're spending too much time playing with your music".

They just don't understand. Ha ha

I have a poster on my desk beside me and it starts with "This is your life. Do what you love and do it often."

I have only just picked up your comment as I have been away for the last 3 and a half weeks on a bit of a travelling tour with my wife without internet access. Had a fantastic time but now back in the real world. (Actually I think I've just come back from the real world and am now back in the mad world, but hey.}

I appreciate greatly your comments and don't put your voice down. Your voice and lyrics in all your acapellas have a beautifully huge emotive force to them and I always try and convey that with the music I put around them.

I am a learning musician with a heap of musical ideas in my head that your vocals actually help me make a reality, and I'm loving every minute of it.

Thanks JJ. I have downloaded quite a few acapellas from this site but I just seem to find it so easy to put music to yours. It's weird, all the tracks I have done with your vocals just happen so quickly. I listen back to them and wonder how they evolved. I have suddenly found myself with the time to do all this and loving every minute of it.

I had been working on something else all day and struggling to make anything of it when I grabbed JJ's vocal and this track just happened without me really thinking about it. I think that's when your are in the zone when it all happens so easily.
