Man Thez, this track is heavy. Diggin the sounds you've got and repetition works well. I think anything else added to this would take away from what you have!
good inspiration, maybe your drums seems to be too much closed form your microphone (it seems like this).
But, I like much, it's original, like my "Circus Music".
Good !
This is really fresh. Those horn hits panned on the right really bring a lot to it, give it that sense of power. You ask me this sounds like a summer track for sure.
Then again, that might just be cuz college cats like myself get to breathe for a little bit now haha
Great work man, only gripe would be like how midisparks mentioned, some of the hits sounded just a little bit muffled.
At the same time though, it makes the track sound that much more...real?
Tough call IMO.
Either way, good work fam. I enjoyed it a lot.
i think your music is very fresh. the mood is very upbeat, cheery. i wonder how you achieve that effect of quickly slowing the tempo up so it sounds like a glissando downwards. it gives unexpected bites of irony. do you work with EQ much - to bring out voices to their full potential? there might be some opportunity with respect to EQ. peace.
thank you for the review and the listen...the glissando downwards effect is credited to slowly pulling my pitch bend bar down on the loop at the right moment...then copying and pasting the event.(reason program)I dont work with EQ at all and I believe that my tracks may reflect that lol....that is an area that i want to get stronger in once i get studio monitors that do not provide as much color that my alesis do....thanx
Guess I am not a lyricist, but hopefully more of an audio poet.
Stitched things like glitches on the kick and stabs would have arrested the beat for me a little more.
(I am really into glitch and don't recommend it lolz)
Levels sound wonderful and amazing, and I am totally showing this to my friends and family, and they love it.
This is your neighbor here in Jersey Fila grooving along with this smooth jazzy tune!! This baby hits you from the opening note. Love the string arrangement and ending! Enjoyed this one Fila
Its good to see you back on the loop fila....I look forward to swingin by your your page and checkin out some sweet organic sounding tunes that you are so well known for!!! Thanx for the review!!!
old school hip hop flavor. love the sampladelic feel to it. this is the kinda stuff that got me into hip hop when I was a kid. thanks for this track. like that break at the end, really brought me back. had to favorite it cuz there's no download. O well,Guess I'll have to purchase the album when It drops.
This one went str8 to my heart my man. I love jazz so you did a solid work going through different variations with it (taking it back to the essence). Hope to hear more ; bless!
Nice swing Zman!..if you took out the claps it would be totally blue note territory and those spacey strings add a real 50/60's Hollywood element....It's an out of time groove and I'm not talking about time signatures..it's as if you distiled elements from the boomtime of Jazz(no BeBop though) and put them all into a contemporary reefer haze! hehe..very spacey and cool..cheers Dave
