This might be my favourite so far, BlancFroid. Like Danke said, it catches you from the first note. I have neglected to mention in my other comments that your mixes are really good. Very clean and the various instruments are nicely set out in their own areas of the frequency spectrum. This mix was particularly good I think. In my own projects, I'm trying to be more disciplined and EQ each track, cutting back rather than boosting frequency ranges where other instrument tracks need to be heard. I don't know if you were doing that with the mix on this track, but it sure sounded clean and transparent. Everything in its place. I was impressed.
Thanks again. Actually, I haven't been messing with the EQ for very long, just sort of feeling my way along with this stuff. I generally have no idea what I'm doing, just learning by doing.
Now I have to check out some of your stuff. Cheers!
As soon as this track started my mind immediately brought up memories of "Altered Carbon", the sci fi series filmed in Vancouver. This track would have worked perfectly for some of the more desolate (not exactly the right word) urban scenes in that excellent series. I think you really have a knack for eliciting images/scenes in your music. At least, you do with me. :)
I had sort of a smile on my face the whole time listening while aggressively bopping my head. It's like you're listening to the internal workings of the machine. Great stuff.
Really interesting atmosphere in this one. There is a melt between industrial activity and an urban aspect.
This rhythmic which unwinds on a perfect linearity evokes a kind of hammering where from highly-rated industrial. It kept silent add all the " fx " sounds which contribute to stress highly-rated urban, the whole wrapped in a soft and smoothing melody and you obtain a delicious musical UFO.
Had to Google-translate your comment, but thanks for the feedback.
The Cure is often an influence in my stuff, however distant, but Cold Wave also encompasses Kraftwerk, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and a number of post-punk bands that just generally had a detached and sparse mood about them.
Ministry of Trust was actually inspired partially by Devo's "Devo Corporate Anthem." It's tinged with irony in that it sounds like a a celebration of cold corporatism, but is actually mocking it.
there are some people here (not much :-) whose music catching me from the first note...you are the one...your versatility is awesome...and the bass/drum groovy is outstanding here...
This is great! It all flows very nicely together and has a nice build to it. Love the drums in particular. They have a nice drive to them, and make the track ominous. Feels like driving on the highway after dark
They say music affects the emotions which i think is true . This track has for me a calming effect which is surprising as i am not a calm type of person perhaps i'm getting more calm the older i get, anyway thanks for the chill time regards Robbie.
very, very cool track with it's flying, waving attitude...those synths you were using are outstanding...though there is mistake, I guess at 1.44 the big hit drum is out of the 4/4 timing...on my humble opinion...
Magnificent production, very air, very melodic and which has small new wave touches.
I shall take pleasure to iron for other listening and to dig my feeling! Musically it is very well kept, and the mixing is also at the top!
