thank you so much for the compliments.
Well, the modus operandi was as follows:
The DAW I do almost everything with is (believe it or not) Garage Band.
First I had this beat which consists partly of an apple loop that comes with Garage Band and then some additions like shakers, tambourines and cymbals, all pasted one by one. I always do that manual because to me the results sound more lively and real.
Then built some chord structure with keyboard so I could follow with my bass (custom made, Alembic pickups).
I remembered the combination of vibes and traverse flute from "All Night Long" by MARY JANE GIRLS (I guess that was Rick James) which I thought would be cool here. I played the melody via master keyboard manual again.
The flute solo in the first part is a mosaic of little samples from apple loops, a real piece of handicraft work.
Then the most pleasant part: my guitar solo in/for two voices – first take, spontaneously.
Well, all of it finally got mastered just with "LoudMax", a wonderful tool if you can't afford better equipment.
But really - I don't know how and why something like that works in the end and I surely am as surprised as anyone else how they sometimes groove like hell. You know – a friend once told me "Remember, Funk is a reward in itself" and I guess that is kinda true.
I just listened to some of your great work and it seems to me, we could do interesting stuff in collab ...
Best regards,
Dr.

I wanted to have somebody singing or rappin on it, but what can you do in this musical diaspora that I'm living in here ....
