Load a kick sample , right click on the name and then press Cut Itself, then left click it -- you know how it brings up the dialog for that channel
After you done that press the instrument (INS) tab it and it should already be set on the VOL tab under it, Turn the Attack , Decay, Sustain and Release levels all the way to 0. After that you can right click the hold knob and find the set menu -- set it to 1 step
Other things you can probably do that i do sometimes open up a EQ on the mixer channel for a kick channel take the very first band on that EQ and curve it all the way down to the bottom left corner , take the 7th band and turn that down a little too
