Tried to mimic a Howard Jones song on a Casio synth in 1986 and I was hooked from that moment on. Making music with loops is an infinitely more rewarding game of sonic jigsaw puzzles. I'll do it until I depart the Earth.
I've been exposed to music since I was young. From dance, choir, and band. Growing up I always had melodies or beats that I would play by myself but never wrote it down. Until recently, after talking to my friend jinsang who began making beats during highschool, I started making mine too. Please share the pack with me and I promise I will return a song with it. https://soundcloud.com/0_cal
My grandmother passed away when I was 11 back in 2012, and I went into a deep depression during that time. I started getting in trouble with my family and started acting out at school, I just didn't know how to control my emotions and I just felt like I was in a dark hole. I already knew how to play the piano from a young age since I grew up in the church and taught myself, I just never knew that I’d find my therapy through musical artistry. I first downloaded Mixcraft and started working with music theory with loops at first, then I got into FL Studio with the help of my friend and I started producing with FL and occasionally on Logic. I found myself becoming passionate about creating music that fed the soul, and that’s when I realized that not only did I have a God-Given talent, but I also treated my own mental health with therapy created by my own artistry. It’s been a good 8 years now and I’d done nothing but developed my craft and grow as both a producer and a musical artist. All I can say is that if I didn’t have music, I wouldn’t know where I’d be today. I've produced a lot of R&B songs back in 2016-2017 once I got the attention of the TrapSoul scene with my beats, and now I've made my own twist on different genres since I have a very eclectic ear. Music is my life, without it, I wouldn't be the person that I am now.
Pierre Bourne got me into making music, specifically when magnolia dropped. I remember hearing that song at like midnight when it dropped as I was running through the carti album and the second that beat hit it was a wrap. I knew then that I couldn't ignore my passion for music and pursued becoming a producer.
after going to college, dropping out, and working a bunch of different jobs i hated, i started trying to make beats about 3 months ago because i realized my obsession w listening to music was the only consistent thing throughout my entire life and even though i've never done anything creative before, god kept giving me signs that this is what i'm supposed to be doing
